Where In The Bible Does It Say,
“Thou Shalt Keep Sunday”?
Recently, I
received a letter from a gentleman who said: “Dear
Mr. Armstrong. For the past several months I have
[been] watching your television program, as well as
ordering numerous tapes and booklets. I have
certainly enjoyed your insight into the scriptures
and do believe God has given you a special gift of
interpretation (sic). I was particularly drawn to
your publication, WHY KEEP SATURDAY FOR SUNDAY?
Like millions of others, I have been taught that
‘Sunday’ is the day for worship. After studying your
writing, I was convinced that the Sabbath was that
special day. However, my curiosity got the best of
me and I asked for an explanation from a TV program
known as Know Your Bible, just to see how
they would defend their Sunday church observance.
I’ve enclosed their answer. What a totally different
take. Unfortunately, as you read their response, it
actually begins to make some sense. Many scriptures
are quoted and explanations given. I feel as though
I’m back to square one. If possible, would there be
any way for you to read this and respond to their
answer? If what they are saying is basically wrong
and distorted, I have been unable to detect it, but
I know you could. I would love to settle this issue
in my mind once and for all.
