Why would Bin Laden and his lieutenants even think of attacking Saudi Arabia?
For many reasons, not the least of which is their contention that the ruling Saudi royal family is wholly "corrupt." When Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld visited the Saudi government recently, his visit included a photo op with King Fahd. But the king has been known to be in a virtual vegetable state for a long time; and can be propped up and only momentarily open his eyes. He is said to know no-one around him.
The real reason Rumsfeld went to Saudi Arabia was to talk to the de facto head of state, Fahd’s half-brother, Crown Prince Abdullah. As usual, Rumsfeld received little cooperation.
US officials have been incensed for years at the Saudis’ failure to assist the US in tracking down the terrorists who murdered American soldiers at the Khobar Towers in Riyadh. Reportedly, when the US handed the Saudi government the list of the terrorists who attacked the Trade Towers and the Pentagon, the Saudis refused to launch an investigation. Why? Because, it was reported, they knew that such an investigation would unearth a lot more terrorists inside Saudi Arabia.
Actually, serious charges have been leveled at the "corrupt" Saudi government that they have funneled millions of dollars into the hands of associates of Bin Laden and known terrorist organizations in an attempt to buy them off, like protection money, so that the Saudi princes are immune from the wrath of such groups.
For decades, it has been no secret that Saudi multi-millionaire princes have cavorted all over the world, in the gambling houses in London, France, Monte Carlo, and Las Vegas, sometimes dropping up to 3 million dollars and more in one night of gambling, with blonde prostitutes on their arms. Intercepted telephone conversations between top level Saudi government officials prove they have openly discussed how much money should be skimmed from dozens of otherwise legitimate business enterprises. Since they are dealing in billions, it was said "what is 50 million here and there?"
For decades, I have decried the American penchant for "getting in bed with dictators of our choice." The most recent, and most disgusting example, is that of Bin Laden himself. While he was "our" Mujahadeen (freedom fighter), helping to wage war against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan, we supported him and his fellow fighters, the "Taliban," with CIA weapons and money.
When Saddam Hussein waged war against Iran for eight years, he was "our" good guy in the region, helping to prevent Iran from taking over much of Iraq, or launching any further attacks in this most sensitive region of the world. Since we basically supported Saddam through all those years, it was no surprise that he interpreted the words of an American Assistant Secretary of State concerning Kuwait that the State Department would "look the other way" if Saddam decided to gobble up his so-called "nineteenth province." Suddenly, Saddam was (and is, of course) the bad guy. Saddam was reportedly very surprised, and furious over being "betrayed" when he struck Kuwait, for he had not believed the US would become involved.
When Manuel Noriega was "our guy" in Panama, helping us with intelligence against druggies, and helping with American interests in Nicaragua, he received CIA support. Later, he was the object of US wrath; was found, and arrested. During World War II, one of the most vicious mass murderers and criminals in all history, Josef Stalin, dictator of Russia, was "our guy." We sent hundreds of millions of dollars worth of planes, tanks, trucks and guns to Stalin as massive loss of ships and life based upon the principle "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."
Today, the huge oil company Haliburton (of which Vice President Dick Cheney was CEO prior to dropping his job there for his political run) does megabuck business with the Saudis through various subsidiaries. Interesting.
America’s "Lovers" Abroad
For decades, I have shouted a warning about how our peoples HIRE LOVERS all over the world, and how those "lovers" upon whom we depend will eventually BETRAY us! God says, of Great Britain and America, "For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will deliver thee into the hand of them whom thou hatest, into the hand of them from whom thy mind is alienated:
"And they shall deal with thee hatefully, and shall take away all thy labour, and shall leave thee naked and bare: and the nakedness of thy whoredoms shall be discovered, both thy lewdness and thy whoredoms.
"I will do these things unto thee, because thou hast gone a whoring after the heathen, and because thou art polluted with their idols" (Ezekiel 23:28-30). Study this entire chapter — it contains very stark, shocking language about how God views His people making alliances with pagan nations instead of trusting HIM for their deliverance. Aholah and Aholibah represent "Samaria and Jerusalem," or the Northern Ten Tribes of Israel, and the House of Judah, which means the modern-day Israelis in the land of Palestine. God says our "allies" will eventually betray us! "She weepeth sore in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks: among all her lovers she hath none to comfort her: all her friends have dealt treacherously with her, they are become her enemies" (Lamentations 1:2).
America Is Dependent Upon Our Lovers
Only a few decades ago, America was self-sufficient in energy. But as we became more and more enmeshed in geopolitical intrigues and devious machinations among the nations, it seemed propitious to our leaders to offer them money, as if going to a prostitute. So, even though we did not really need it at the time, it was propitious to offer the Saudis "petrodollars," billions and billions of them, so America could become one of their best customers.
In this way, we could hope that a corrupt, "moderate" Arab government would not go the way of Iran, and that even though Saudi Arabia remains a bitter foe of Israel, we could deter them from mounting any further armed attacks against Israel. We began selling large amounts of arms to the Saudis, which they paid for with our oil money. We began doing business with this Islamic nation because it seemed politically expedient. In return for our money, we expected to be able to use Saudi bases (which we helped build, at huge expenditure) in the Gulf War.
Today, we are denied the use of those same bases in mounting attacks against Afghanistan, with the result that much riskier flight operations must be carried out from American aircraft carriers in the Arabian Sea. Instead of returning from strikes to land on a huge 12,000 foot strip in Saudi Arabia, our young pilots must slam their planes down on a little 600-foot tossing deck, at night, on an aircraft carrier. There will be casualties — there always are, even in peacetime practice.
Yet, we have never received Saudi cooperation in tracking down the terrorists who murdered our young soldiers in Riyadh, nor those who were complicit in the attack upon the USS Cole. It is known that the majority of the suicidal terrorists who mounted the attacks on September 11th were from Saudi Arabia.
WHY have not the Saudis been cooperative?
For the simple reason that the Saudi princes have been bedfellows with various terrorist organizations! They have funneled money to "Hamas," and have the same virulent hatred toward Israel as do the Palestinians. The Saudi Arabian people would love to see every "Zionist" in Israel utterly destroyed!
But the American government believes WE NEED Saudi Arabia. Ergo: we are willing to pay for their cooperation. God calls this "hiring lovers among the nations." It has been reported that when a top-level Saudi official defected to the US and asked for political asylum, he brought with him thousands of internal documents which documented not only the royal Saudi family’s peccadillos, corruption, and human rights abuses, but also their deliberate financial aid for terrorist organizations — primarily Hamas, which mostly targets Israel.
Allegedly, even though two FBI agents were present in a meeting with the defector, and saw some of the documentation, they refused to accept it. As has been widely reported, Bin Laden uses various "Islamic Charitable Organizations" to launder money. When the Saudis were confronted with the fact that large amounts of money had been given to such organizations, which had ties to Bin Laden’s "Al Qaeda" ("the base"), they said they knew nothing of such connections. Sure they didn’t.
All this is because of OIL! It is because America has prostituted itself to various "lovers" around the world that we dare not insist that such governments track down and hand over terrorists; that they immediately cease and desist from supporting them; that they immediately sign a peace treaty with Israel, and declare Israel’s right to exist, and that they back us in not only allowing us to use the very bases our own money built, but also in the military strikes against terrorists!
The Vulnerable Oil Pipeline
For many years, I have passed on to my readers and viewers how disastrous it would be if a super tanker were deliberately sunk in the narrow straits of Hormuz; how vulnerable are the thousands of miles of oil pipelines which deliver oil to Mediterranean ports; how vulnerable shipping in the Persian Gulf is to attacks.
One can well remember the horrifying specter of thousands of oil wells burning when Saddam Hussein’s retreating army deliberately set them afire in Kuwait.
Today, because of their corruption and their fear of being overthrown by fundamentalists, the Saudi royal family is incredibly vulnerable. It has been suggested that a very small amount of explosives, planted in strategic locations, could cripple the entire Saudi oil industry for several years! If this happened, the price of oil could quadruple, or quintuple virtually overnight! Oil could cost more than 100$ per barrel!
Such a shock would be felt worldwide — from Europe to Japan, and from Britain to America! Don’t think that the Prime Minister of Japan has been calling on George W. Bush just t enquire after his health! Japan is KEENLY aware of her vulnerability as a WAR rages in that most volatile, and most strategically important part of the world! This is precisely why I have said for decades that Japan will once again put to sea a large, powerful navy! She is vitally concerned about protecting her vital lifeline to the OIL supplies of the Middle East. The Prime Minister of Japan was present in China the other day, along with Putin of Russia, and the heads of state of many Asian and Southeast Asian nations.
The entire WORLD is affected by ongoing events in Afghanistan, and the entire region.
For many years, knowing what Daniel 11:40-45 depicts, I have expected either an attack, or an "oil embargo" imposed upon the West by a future "King of the South" who MAY be either an Egyptian, or a Saudi. Whoever he is, he will "push at" the Beast power (a future "United States of Europe" which will no doubt be dominated by GERMANY)! This will result in a whirlwind war, in which Israel, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia are occupied by a powerful European military force.
Unthinkable? It is about time sleepy Americans became accustomed to thinking the unthinkable! While most would believe it is absurd to think fanatical Arabs could attack an Islamic country, let alone the so-called "holy soil" of Saudi Arabia, the oil fields of that nation may well be on the target list of Osama Bin Laden and his gang of terrorists.
