China spies
Pittsburg Live

The lobby that keeps insisting China is no military threat to the United States has just been exposed as the ignorami they are. Intrepid Washington Times scribe Bill Gertz broke the stunning story.

China now is thought to be in possession of data "that will assist (it in) development of electromagnetic pulse weapons.

Four people arrested in Los Angeles on Nov. 4 "are part of a Chinese intelligence-gathering ring" that has "caused serious compromises for 15 years to major U.S. weapons systems, including submarines and warships."

The spy case could be the most damaging since 1985, when John Walker Jr. was exposed for giving Moscow our Navy communication codes for 22 years, Mr. Gertz is told.

Programs thus confirmed as compromised are this nation's Aegis battle management system -- considered core to our destroyers and cruisers -- and data related to the new Virginia-class submarines. China has since mimicked our Aegis warship with its own, code-named "Magic Shield," and can track U.S. subs.

Additionally, Gertz reports China now is thought to be in possession of data "that will assist (it in) development of electromagnetic pulse weapons ... that disrupt electronics" and details of our unmanned aerial vehicle technology.

"The Chinese now know more about our military than we know about their entire country," one official told Gertz.

China is not our friend. It is our foe. And our days of misplaced deference and misguided diffidence must end -- or surely we will meet ours.
