BERLIN - The German government condemned the latest terrorist attacks in London Friday, calling them "under-handed and inhuman".

"Britain can count on German support for the battle against terror," deputy government spokesman Thomas Steg said in Berlin. "Terrorism must not prevail."

Germany remained on a heightened security alert, although authorities said there was no indication of any imminent threat.
