Hitler and Nazi Resurgence
Germany mulls over
Nazi past
The Parliament
Rzeczpospolita reports that the German foreign office is entangled in a
row about former Nazi party diplomats.
Some modern workers want the government to honour the memory of their
Hitler-era colleagues, but foreign minister Joschka Fischer believes the
move would damage international relations.
Meanwhile, In an interview in Spiegel Online, Gert Weisskirchen, OSCE's
anti-Semitism representative, said that more money should be made
available to fund basic initiatives to fight anti-Semitism.
He said that Germany should do its utmost to ensure that education and
upbringing keeps young Germans informed of the country’s nazi past and
the holocaust.
However, he said that although right-wing extremism may be more
noticeable in Germany, all European countries should actively fight it.
