Vatican City-- This year's World Youth Day - to be attended by the Pope in Cologne from 18 to 21 August - will be loaded with important meanings, and will be "a daring reply" to the threat of international terrorism in Europe, said don Paolo Giulietti, in charge of youth for the CEI, who will coordinate the presence of 100,000 young Italians in Cologne. "Cologne, in the very geographical heart of Europe, is a significant location - he said in a press conference - its cathedral hosts the corpses of the Mage Kings and of two fathers of Europe, Konrad Adenauer and Edith Stein. We can therefore expect a strong call to the Christian view of Europe". Even the moment is a significant one, "marked by an obvious tension, with the escalation of terrorism and of armed conflicts, the problems of national economies and the limping development of many people and of the European unity process. The Cologne World Youth Day will be a celebration of Christian hope as a driving force for all common projects of European peoples".
