War Fever
Grips the Middle East
Drill 'exposes
Israel's vulnerability'
Press TV
The recent massive drill in Israel has revealed the vulnerability of the
regime against missile attacks, Israeli analysts admit.
Most people did not know where to find public shelters - none were
marked - and were given no answers about protection against chemical or
biological missile warfare, the Israeli website DEBKA which has
reportedly close links with military sources reported.
"While the drill aimed at improving the warning system to gain time for
reaching shelters, most Israeli homes and workplaces do not have
shelters," the report added.
Citing military sources, the report said the drill which was organized
by deputy war minister Matan Vilnaih exposed the fact that Israel is not
readier for missile attacks than it was when the 33-day Lebanon War
began.
It also blamed the drill for infecting the entire Middle East with "the
fever of war."
Security experts said that the evacuation of tens or hundreds of
thousands of people from their homes to temporary shelters was not an
easy job and there were no vehicles to evacuate distressed people.
The regime, the report added, was suffered from the lack of preparation
for supplying water, electricity, food or medical aid to people in case
of another war.
Israel staged "the national military drill" amid speculations that the
regime prepares for waging another war in the Middle East.
