EU seeks coordination with Egypt over Gaza Interest Alert.com CAIRO-- EU envoy to the Middle East peace process Mark Otti said Thursday Europe wants to help Egypt maintain security in Gaza when Israel withdraws. "We hope there will be coordination between the EU and Egypt regarding the Egyptian plan on security in Gaza Strip," Otti said following a meeting with Arab League Secretary-General Amr Mousa. Egypt offered to help establish security in Gaza after Israel's proposed withdrawal, including training Palestinian security forces. Under the proposed Egyptian security plan for Gaza, several European countries might be asked to play a role, including Britain, France and Italy. Source |
