Whether people like it or not, it’s clear there is no stopping the artificial intelligence freight train now barrelling towards some kind of final destination.

The data centers are being built, automation is already nibbling away at jobs and governments around the world are in a Manhattan Project-style race to reach the holy grail of AGI, or artificial general intelligence.

Big change is coming.

Nobody walked out. That’s the best news. So now we’re in for round two in a couple of weeks? Maybe that’s just enough time for the players to consider what the consequences of intransigence might be. Trump is playing deal-maker, peace-maker and trying to convince the parties to cooperate on some shared goals. You’ve seen the media’s coverage of the Alaska meeting.  

Zelensky is starting to show signs of sanity, and let’s hope it lasts. Nobody wants to be on our President’s bad side, because there’s no telling what he might do if genuinely peeved. He’s the wild card, and he’s demanding peace. 

I watched a long-running press conference in which Trump had all his deputies and each got to speak about the crime in DC. Hegseth, Patel, Gabbard, Judge Jeanine and others. It was like a love fest with a record media crowd, and Trump as usual, speaking off the cuff.

Maybe you’ve already realized it, but we’re going to have to live through all this dirty laundry again. Not that we didn’t have it figured out, now we’ll have o see it adjudicated. The principals aren’t sleeping well, guaranteed. We knew these so-and-so’s were dirty and filed it away a long time ago. Some of these perpetrators may line up to turn state’s evidence, but you know they are communicating behind the scenes, trying to get their stories straight. It’s not going to be pretty. All the goofballs we knew were not telling the truth at the time.  They didn’t destroy everything, despite trying. Now they’re in trouble, and who knows how much?

There’s a running debate in the comments section, some claiming nothing will happen. Maybe there’s a little patience in order. Law cases take time, and not until all the T’s are crossed and the I’s dotted will they be brought. But I have a suspicion nobody’s off the hook. All the prevaricators we watched at the time, knowing they were fudging the truth at the very least. They messed with the wrong dude and we don’t even know what he’s thinking.

Things are happening fast. The Israelis have a green light, and they’re not messing around. There are still hostages, and apparently one digging  his own grave has made the rounds, and the Israelis are not amused. There’s a harsh truth about Israel. With a lack of enemies they argue amongst themselves. 

Alex Jones thinks Trump’s swollen ankles are going to precede a collapse. I hope he’s wrong. Dr. Ronnie Jackson says Trump is the healthiest President we’ve ever had. Time will tell.

We’re being run around about AI. Some of these companies are throwing billions at it, and we don’t know who’s going to survive to tell about it. If you think back, we’ve been through a lot of this, maybe not on this scale, but tread carefully. A whole bunch of “sure things” have been down the pike, and it’s a whole new world. We can thank God for everything we have, and with any luck, He’s not through.

A string of numbers or lines of code is enough to pass along biases, preferences, and some disturbingly violent suggestions.

It’s happening too fast. You couldn’t keep up if you were trying. The orders coming out of the new Administration are in line with the promises made on the campaign trail. President Trump has been saying what he will do in his speeches. I don’t know if you watched the appearance in Davos, but it was priceless. He wrecked them. How good is it to have a guy that doesn’t need a teleprompter?

There’s a pervading sense that the U. S. is back, directing things, not just waiting to see what happens. There has been a blizzard of executive orders. It’s a full-time job just to keep up. Fauci has been denied secret service protection, but he’ll still need protection, so he’s reportedly hired his own.

So many documents are due to be released. Several that are no doubt already the theme for books. How many books have been written about the very things that are released, and how many theories will be tested?

America is back with a vengeance, so to speak. We don’t know how many reports will be constructed in the coming days and weeks. I don’t know if we could stand everything at once. Maybe there will be a schedule. The experts will pour over everything released and let us know. They’ll probably prove their theories with the real thing, which nobody can deny.

There are all kinds of reports about AI, and what it will bring in the future. It seems things are speeding up and changing. AI better not do all the things they’re worried about. There is dangerous territory here. Some may regard it as the answer to everything. We’ll have to be on our guard, lest it lead us off into the wrong direction.

I just heard the exchange in the Oval Office where Trump, Vance and Zelensky were having it out. Call me crazy, but I’ve never had a very high opinion of the little guy, running around the world asking for money. Trump told Zelensky he was going to start WW III over his arguments. If you look at the Drudge Report right now they may still have the photo up. It shows Trump and Vance with their hands out trying to get Zelensky to stop talking. It didn’t work.

Who knows what’s going to happen. Trump’s trying to get Putin’s cooperation. There’s something about Ukraine’s mineral deposits. I think Trump wants them, or he’s trying to figure out a way for Ukraine to pay for everything we’ve sent so far. This needs to be resolved before it spreads.

It looks like Israel has carte blanche to go after Hamas, no holds barred. I’ve been trying to tell everybody, these people don’t think like we do. You hear some logic trotted out, that doesn’t sound logical. The Arabs conducted a sneak attack, and now they want everything to be fair. It’s too late! They’ve been holding hostages underground, and they look like holocaust survivors.

The Arabs think they sound reasonable. They’re wrong. They can get loud and stomp away, but that doesn’t make them right. So far they’ve succeeded in blowing up Gaza and sending everybody who lived there to some tent city.

Trump is determined to have peace! We certainly don’t need anyone getting us into WW III.

The pope’s not looking too good. He’s pronouncing the Catholic’s version of the afterlife, and getting ready to go. Maybe he’ll resign. Then again, that’s not the papal way. He’s said a mouthful, and was apparently on board with the gay movement. He’s not long for this world, but the same “people” who voted for him will probably vote in somebody else who will peeve us. They, the Catholics at the Vatican don’t have much to celebrate. We, on the other hand, are thanking God for turning this county around.

Developers seeking help with staying on the right side of the law when it comes to applying artificial intelligence in the region are likely to be keen to parse the advice. Breaches of the law’s rules on prohibited use cases can attract the stiffest penalties: up to 7% of global turnover (or €35 million, whichever is greater).

Alibaba Cloud (BABA) released an upgraded version of its flagship AI model, Qwen2.5-Max, that performed better than top open-source competitors, including DeepSeek’s V3 model and Meta’s (META) Llama 3.1 model on various benchmarks, according to results published by the firm on WeChat. The cloud computing subsidiary of Alibaba Group also found its Qwen2.5-Max showed comparable performance to OpenAI’s GPT-4 and Anthropic’s Claude 3.5 Sonnet — both closed-source models.

The Chinese firm said its AI model “has demonstrated world-leading model performance in mainstream authoritative benchmarks,” including the Massive Multitask Language Understanding (MMLU), which evaluates general knowledge, and LiveCodeBench, which tests coding skills.
