]]> Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has said he won’t get “carried away” as a left-wing bloc is forecast to establish control in both houses in “the most progressive” parliament in history. 

The 48th Parliament of Australia has been touted as the most progressive parliament in history according to the Australian Greens.

Early election projections show the minor party set to hold the balance of power in the Senate and emerge as the only effective check on a resurgent Labor government.

Chief Election Analyst Tom Connell has forecast Labor will secure between 27 and 31 seats, with the Greens predicted to occupy 11, the minor party’s equal highest ever.

While final numbers may not be known for weeks, the result has shifted the political dynamic in Parliament House.
