Trudeau’s departure comes amid mounting pressure for him to step aside before an upcoming election that his Liberal Party is forecasted to lose badly. The leader also has a complicated, oft-adversarial relationship with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, who is set to be sworn in later this month.

“Every morning I’ve woken up as prime minister, I’ve been inspired by the resilience, generosity and the determination of Canadians,” Trudeau said in a news conference. “It is the driving force of every single day I have the privilege of serving this office.”

You don’t need me to tell you we’ve had two major attacks here in the U. S. this week. They still haven’t gotten to the bottom of the one in Las Vegas.  Why didn’t the guy get out of the Cybertruck?  What about the incident on Bourbon Street?  These monsters are over here!  

You know the time for talk is over when the terror starts. We’re only two weeks from Trump regaining the presidency and things are already underway. Hamas or whoever better be releasing hostages or there will be trouble. How crazy must these people be? They’ve been driven off, their top level commanders killed, and they’re still firing the odd rocket to signal they haven’t given up. They better get their ducks in a row. Arabic pride is off the chart.

Things are beginning to happen fast. We can only guess as to what is going on in the Middle East.  It appears the terrorist threat has been pushed back, and all the do-gooders have gone quiet.

They’ve gone quiet over here too.  Do you suppose they’re planning something, or are just out of gas?

It seems to me that God has looked down in His mercy and decided that we ought to have one more chance.  Would Grandpa Armstrong ever be surprised!  We were in the gun lap when I was in high school. They never saw Trump coming. Dad never did either. Would they ever be surprised!  

Man has had the power to destroy life on earth for eighty years. Thank goodness it’s never happened. We were pretty sure it was only a matter of time before the United States went down the tubes. Now, we’re pretty sure there will be a revival. Trump better have good security.

Our grandkids are going to read about what went on during the last twenty years and wonder what on earth? Everything got so crazy! How did we ever put up with it? In years future, people are going to look back and wonder where we were. We’ve seen the trajectory and we’ve just had a course alteration. The world will no longer be kicking around the U.S.A. Quite the contrary.  

Justin Trudeau thought he’d run down to Trump’s place and make nice.  He probably wonders what he was thinking.  Of course he got humiliated when Trump told him he could be governor after the U. S. takes it over.  But, that’s not going to happen.  Now it looks as though he’ll have to resign. You can’t react too quickly when it looks like something is about to happen. Trump plays the long game, and some interim decision might just be setting the table.  

First the wars have to be stopped. Israel seems to have the one in the Middle East under control. But the terrorists are not suing for peace, they would rather die. So that’s what is happening. The Bible tells us what we’re dealing with.

The war in Ukraine is worrisome. We’re giving Ukraine missiles and they’re firing them deep into Russia?  That’s not going to continue.  Trump says he’s going to try to stop it, but there will have to be negotiations and you know what that means.  Everybody is going to have to give up something. The whole thing seemed unnecessary in the first place. But Trump is saying there hasn’t been such carnage since WWII.  

It looks like we’re going to have some good years here in the U. S. I hope they don’t release all the secrets at once, but it’s about to begin, and I’m sure God knows what’s going on.

Dozens of MPs in Justin Trudeau’s Liberal party have now agreed that Canada’s embattled prime minister must abandon his post after last week’s catastrophic resignation of his deputy – a sign he has completely lost support from what were crucial loyalists.

Several Canadian media outlets, including the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and the Toronto Star, reported over the weekend that 51 of Ontario’s Liberal MPs met virtually and agreed collectively that Trudeau’s time in office has expired.

There are a total of 75 Liberal MPs in the province that is the country’s most populous and represents where most of the party’s support lies, indicating the core of the Liberals have abandoned Trudeau.

The Canadian prime minister appears to have ignored both the demands of a handful of his own MPs calling for him to resign and threats from a separatist party looking to unravel his party’s tenuous hold on power.

Nearly two dozen backbench Liberal MPs signed a letter last week calling for the prime minister to step down amid fears within the party that his unpopularity could lead to a crushing electoral defeat in the coming months. The letter was separate from a “code red” petition to grassroots party supporters calling for a secret ballot vote on Trudeau’s leadership.

EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – A second major migrant caravan could be assembling in southern Mexico shortly.

Activist Irineo Mujica, who is currently leading upwards of 1,000 Central and Haitian migrants through the state of Oaxaca, said he’s expecting to meet up with a caravan 10 times larger in nearby Veracruz on November 18.

“We are not going to Mexico City, we are now going the northern border, we are going to Sonora,” Mujica said this week on social media. “For that reason, I am calling on all our migrant peers in Tapachula, in Coatzcoalcos, in Tabasco, in Acayuca […] to gather on the 18th of this month.”

That’s the same date President Biden is scheduled to meet with Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to talk – among other things – about immigration. The timing could be more than coincidental.

“It seems to me that Mexico is using the caravans as leverage with the United States. Otherwise, the 18,000 Haitians that made it to Del Rio, Texas, would not have made it that far. They were allowed to transit through Mexico and make it to the border,” said Tony Payan, director of the Center for the U.S. and Mexico at Rice University’s Baker Institute.

The September migrant crisis in Del Rio drew international attention as thousands of Haitians, including families with small children, waded across the Rio Grande and formed a gigantic camp under the international bridge. Images of Border Patrol agents on horseback charging to contain the surge went viral on social media.

Lopez Obrador is pushing for the U.S. to ramp up worker visas for Mexicans, many of whom are already trying to cross the border by any means available after being displaced by narco-violence in the countryside in states like Michoacan, Jalisco, Guanajuato, Zacatecas, Durango and others. AMLO, as Lopez Obrador is known, also wants the U.S. to “invest” in economic development in Southern Mexico and Central America.

“Every time a caravan comes to the border, it creates a political problem for the Biden administration. Not only do they have to deal with the asylum-seekers, but it also gives political gunpowder to Biden’s critics in the GOP and states like Texas to portray his policies as failed policies,” Payan said. “It’s not a good thing. It distracts him from other issues.”

Mujica, a U.S. citizen affiliated with the nonprofit Pueblo Sin Fronteras (People Without Borders), in late October led 4,000 out of Tapachula, a city near the border with Guatemala which he characterized as an “open-air prison” for migrants from all over the world. Most of the Haitians that showed up at Del Rio a month before also left from Tapachula.

In a Tuesday news conference in Mexico City, U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Ken Salazar allegedly accused caravan organizers of benefiting smugglers who make money off of the migrants.

“The organizers say they are doing something for human rights. In reality, what they are doing is making money for the smugglers and criminals,” Milenio and Infobae quoted Salazar as saying.

The statement incensed Mujica.

“I completely refute what the ambassador said,” Mujica said on social media, pulling out his wallet open for the cameras. “This is my wallet, ambassador. I have nothing. […] Your intelligence (agents), are they not telling you I don’t even have money for tortillas? Where are you and what world are you living on?”

Mujica said the United States’ immigration policy has been a “disaster” and its officials are now turning to slandering him. “You should be ashamed of yourselves, ambassador, because you and Mexico have de-humanized migrants. What low morals you have,” the activist said.

This new wave of migrant caravans is also bad for business.

“There has to be some hard discussion on working together to prevent that because when (the caravans) reach the U.S. border and apply for asylum, that takes (U.S. Customs and Border Protection) officers off the vehicle inspection lanes and the cargo lanes and that slows down trade,” said Jerry Pacheco, president and CEO of the Border Industrial Association.

Pacheco said Mexico should “actively participate” in dissuading the northbound caravans because neither U.S. companies that invest south of the border nor their Mexican partners want to see their trucks being held up or enduring long waits at ports of entry. “Immigration has a direct impact on trade,” he added.

Payan of the Baker Institute concurs that the caravans have become an international political distraction.

“I think the caravans are absolutely distracting and it’s absolutely necessary that the United States convinces Mexico not to allow them to form, march through Mexico and get to the border,” Payan said. When that happens, “everything else is off and all the attention, all the resources go to dealing with asylum-seekers.”

US Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin has faced sharp criticism from angry finance ministers of other G7 nations over America’s imposition of new tariffs on steel and aluminium imports.

France’s Bruno Le Maire warned a trade war could begin in “a few days”.

Meanwhile US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross met Chinese Vice Premier Liu He in Beijing to try to ease trade tensions.

Afterwards China warned that all trade talks with the US would be void if Washington introduced sanctions.

State news agency Xinhua said China was willing to increase imports from many countries including the US.

Mr Ross is seeking deals on agriculture and energy to narrow the yawning US trade deficit with China, days after Washington threatened to impose additional tariffs on $50bn (£37bn) of Chinese goods.

On Saturday President Trump insisted on Twitter that the US had been “ripped off by other countries for years on trade”.

He says steel tariffs will protect US steelmakers, which he says are vital to national security. Mr Trump has also complained about barriers US firms face in Europe and elsewhere.

“Time to get smart!” he added.

At a heated meeting in the Canadian ski resort, the EU and Canada threatened to retaliate.

But Mr Mnuchin denied that the US had abandoned leadership in the global economy and said he had passed on the other countries’ strong feelings to Mr Trump.
