With the CDC announcing a mask mandate reversal and the endless doom mongering over the dreaded Delta variant, Americans have a lot of questions, yet the answer to all of them seems to simply be ‘do as you’re told because we say so’.

This was in evidence again on Friday when after the announcement that even vaccinated people can still get and transmit the Delta variant, Newsmax reporter Emerald Robinson asked the White House Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre what exactly the CDC is doing to test for this.

Jean-Pierre had no idea and didn’t even bother to suggest she would try to find out.

Robinson pointed out that the only answers Americans are being given is “because they say so,” to which the Deputy Press Secretary answered “because they are the experts.”

After admitting that he is seeking to determine whether he can mandate vaccines for all Americans, Joe Biden lost it with reporter Peter Doocy, who again dared to ask for an explanation on the flip-flop on masks.

Democrats, including Nancy Pelosi, are literally repeating the stock phrase ‘it’s science’ over and over without explaining any of the methods behind it, because they literally have no idea what it is.

Ever since the Omicron variant first appeared around Thanksgiving, the U.S. government has been cautious but largely optimistic. While often caveating that we must remain vigilant and that much remains to be seen when it comes to data, most of the news so far has been good, on the U.S. side.

For instance, the head of the CDC said Thursday that most of the forty Omicron cases reported so far in the United States have been mild. There has yet to be a confirmed death from the new variant, in the United States.

“When I look to what the future holds, so much of that is definitely about the science, but it’s also about coming together as a community to do things that prevent disease in yourself and one another,” CDC head Dr. Rochelle Walensky said an interview with the Associated Press. “And I think a lot of what our future holds depends on how we come together to do that.”

However, it’s a different story in the UK.

The UK Health Security Agency issued a risk assessment on Wednesday for the Omicron variant, giving scores of “Red,” the most serious status, for “growth advantage” and “immune evasion.” It gave the variant an “Amber” status for transmissibility. It reported “insufficient data” when it came to infection severity.

The agency predicted that Omicron was likely to overtake Delta and become the dominant variant in that country.

“The observed growth advantage may be due to immune evasion or transmissibility. It is most plausible that it is a combination of both,” according to the risk assessment. “The current growth rate implies either a substantial change in one parameter or at least moderate change in both (for example if transmissibility is similar to Delta, immune evasion must be substantial).”

The risk assessment also called increased transmissibility, compared to that of Delta as “biologically plausible.”

On immune evasion, the assessment stated that “the mutations present are very likely to reduce antibody binding and include changes in all 4 neutralising antibody binding sites in the RBD and also in antigenic sites in the spike N terminal domain.”

The population in the United States has been warned to expect one million cases by the end of December, according to CNBC.

“If the growth rate and doubling time continue at the rate we have seen in the last 2 weeks, we expect to see at least 50% of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases to be caused by Omicron variant in the next 2 to 4 weeks,” the UKHSA said in a press statement this week. The question of transmissibility, and whether it is worse than previous variants, continues to be studied by scientists in the UK.

The new strain, which is likely to be named ‘Nu’, contains 32 mutations, suggesting that it could be highly transmissible and resistant to vaccines. Scientists say that ‘Nu’ likely emerged in a lingering infection in an immunocompromised patient.

Virologist Dr. Tom Peacock described the combination of mutations in this variant as “horrific,” and warned that the strain – clinically known as B.1.1.529 – has the potential to be “worse than nearly anything else,” including the world-dominant Deltra mutation.

On the bright side, scientists say that the number of mutations in Nu could also suggest that it is unstable, preventing it from spreading rapidly.

“For the time being, it should be closely monitored,” said Francois Balloux, a geneticist at University College London. “But there’s no need to be overly concerned, unless it starts going up in frequency.”

Researchers found that protection against any COVID-19 infection declined for all vaccine types, with overall vaccine protection declining from 87.9% in February to 48.1% by October 2021.

The decline was greatest for the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine, with protection against infection declining from 86.4% in March to 13.1% in September
Declines for PfizerBioNTech were from 86.9% to 43.3%
Declines for Moderna were 89.2% to 58%.

While most previous studies have focused on the PfizerBioNTech or Moderna vaccines, the Science study is the first to compare protection declines across the three main vaccine types, and the first to show the comparably dramatic decline in effectiveness for the Janssen vaccine. Declines were assessed over the period February 1, 2021 to October 1, 2021, reflecting the emergence and dominance of the Delta variant in the U.S. Patterns of breakthrough infection over time were consistent by age, despite rolling vaccine eligibility, implicating the Delta variant as the primary determinant of infection.

Importantly, vaccination of any type was protective against death among individuals who did become infected. The relative benefit of vaccination for protection against death was greater for persons under 65 but was also very strong for persons over 65.

The study showed that the risk of death from COVID infection was highest in unvaccinated Veterans, regardless of age and comorbidities. While some breakthrough infections resulted in death, vaccination remained protective against death in those who became infected during the Delta surge.

For those under 65 years old, vaccines overall were 81.7% effective against death.

Protection against death was greatest for the Pfizer vaccine, at 84.3%.
Moderna was the next most effective, at 81.5%.
Janssen was 73% effective.
For those 65 and over, overall vaccine effectiveness against death was 71.6%.

Moderna was 75.5% effective.
Pfizer was 70.1% effective.
Janssen was 52.2% effective.

“Our study gives researchers, policy makers and others a strong basis for comparing the long-term effectiveness of COVID vaccines, and a lens for making informed decisions around primary vaccination, booster shots, and other multiple layers of protection, including masking mandates, social distancing, testing and other public health interventions to reduce chance of spread,” said Dr. Barbara Cohn of PHI, the lead author of the study. “For example, the CDC recommendation for boosters for all Janssen recipients over 18 is supported by our results. And, given the declines in vaccine protection and the dominance of the more infective Delta variant, we urge swift action to promote primary vaccination, boosters and to also encourage masking, social distancing and other layers of protection against infection. This is supported by our finding that breakthrough infections are not benign, but also by the strong evidence that vaccination still protects against death even for persons with breakthrough infections, compared to persons who become infected and are not vaccinated.”

The FDA authorized Pfizer boosters for some groups in September and Moderna and Janssen boosters in October, and the CDC has made similar recommendations, including supporting a “mix and match” approach that allows people to choose any of the three vaccine boosters regardless of which they were given initially.

Germany counted a staggering 50,196 new COVID-19 infections on Thursday, its highest count since the pandemic began. It is the first time the country has been battling a major wave despite a majority of its population being doubly vaccinated.

Here are the reasons why case numbers are skyrocketing.

The effect of the unvaccinated

About 67% of people in Germany are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. But experts have warned from the beginning of the rollout that the number is not high enough to keep the virus under control.

“Our vaccination rate is still under 75% of the German population,” said Dr. Christine Falk, president of the German Society for Immunology. “Combined with the lack of contact restrictions, this is allowing the virus to spread almost exclusively among the unvaccinated.”

According to the Robert Koch Institute, the incidence of hospitalizations for unvaccinated COVID-19 patients between 18 and 59 is currently about four times higher than for vaccinated ones. For patients over 60, it’s about six times higher.

Waning immunity

While the jabs significantly lower the risk of serious illness and death, they don’t fully protect against infection. With soaring case numbers, the risk of getting COVID-19 also rises for vaccinated people.

“The growing numbers are also increasing the pressure on vaccinated people, but the portion of breakthrough infections is miniscule,” Dr. Frank says.

The vaccinated who could face a higher risk, she says, are the older ones with weaker immune systems, especially if some time has passed since their second shot. The country is now administeringbooster shots to people who were fully immunized more than six months ago.

Fewer contact restrictions

Compared to early 2021, Germany has lax distancing measures in place during this fourth wave.

About a year ago, the government introduced rules that would eventually develop into ahard lockdown: All nonessential businesses were closed and a nighttime curfew was imposed temporarily. There were varying restrictions about how many households could meet.

In combination with the vaccine rollout, these measures caused Germany’s incidence to drop in the spring.

Nowadays, people in Germany face less rigid rules: They have to wear medical, so-called FFP-2 masks on public transport and in stores, and most venues will only let them in if they are vaccinated, have recovered from COVID-19 or were tested.

The delta variant is more infectious

This yeardelta, a more contagious mutation of the coronavirus, has become the predominant variant in Germany and much of the world.

It is more than twice as contagious as previous variants, according to the CDC. It might also cause unvaccinated people to experience worse symptoms.

The seasonal effect

Another factor fueling Germany’s fourth wave is that winter is just around the corner.

“The delta variant virus loves the cold. We spend more time indoors which makes it easier to spread the virus,” said Dr. Falk.

Germany is not the only place

Other European countries like Austria, the Netherlands and Belgium are also seeing soaring infection incidences as these factors come together.

Dr. Frank pleads for people to be smart during this fourth wave and consistently wear masks and to take antigen tests as soon as symptoms appear. But most of all, she encourages the unvaccinated to get their shots.

“If we don’t increase the vaccination rate urgently, it will become difficult to control the situation,” she said. “The vaccines are the best thing that could’ve happened to us, but there are still too many people refusing them.”

Israel was the first country on Earth to fully vaccinate a majority of its citizens against COVID-19. Now it has one of the world’s highest daily infection rates — an average of nearly 7,500 confirmed cases a day, double what it was two weeks ago. Nearly one in every 150 people in Israel today has the virus.

What happened, and what can be learned about the vaccine’s impact on a highly vaccinated country? Here are six lessons learned — and one looming question for the future of the pandemic.

1. Immunity from the vaccine dips over time.

Israel had fully vaccinated slightly over half its population by March 25. Infections waned, venues reopened to the vaccinated and the prime minister told Israelis to go out and have fun. By June, all restrictions, including indoor masking, were abolished.

But Israel paid a price for the early rollout. Health officials, and then Pfizer, said their data showed a dip in the vaccine’s protection around six months after receiving the second shot.

2. The delta variant broke through the vaccine’s waning protection.

It was a perfect storm: The vaccine’s waning protection came around the same time the more infectious delta variant arrived in Israel this summer. Delta accounts for nearly all infections in Israel today.

“The most influential event was so many people who went abroad in the summer — vacations — and brought the delta variant very, very quickly to Israel,” said Siegal Sadetzki, a former public health director in Israel’s Health Ministry.

3. If you get infected, being vaccinated helps.

The good news is that among Israel’s serious infections on Thursday of this week, according to Health Ministry data, the rate of serious cases among unvaccinated people over age 60 (178.7 per 100,000) was nine times more than the rate among fully vaccinated people of the same age category, and the rate of serious cases among unvaccinated people in the under-60 crowd (3.2 per 100,000) was a little more than double the rate among vaccinated people in that age bracket.

The bad news, doctors say, is that half of Israel’s seriously ill patients who are currently hospitalized were fully vaccinated at least five months ago. Most of them are over 60 years old and have comorbidities. The seriously ill patients who are unvaccinated are mostly young, healthy people whose condition deteriorated quickly.

Israel’s daily average number of infections has nearly doubled in the past two weeks and has increased around tenfold since mid-July, approaching the numbers during Israel’s peak in the winter. Deaths increased from five in June to at least 248 so far this month. Health officials say that currently 600 seriously ill patients are hospitalized, and they warn they cannot handle more than 1,000 serious infections at the same time.

4. Israel’s high vaccination rate isn’t high enough.

The country jumped out ahead of all other countries on vaccines, and 78% of eligible Israelis over 12 years old are vaccinated.

But Israel has a young population, with many under the eligible age for vaccination, and about 1.1 million eligible Israelis, largely between the ages of 12 and 20, have declined to take even one dose of the vaccine.

That means only 58% of Israel’s total citizenry is fully vaccinated. Experts say that’s not nearly high enough.

“We have a very large fraction of our population who are paying the price for a small fraction of the population who did not go to get the vaccine,” said Eran Segal of the Weizmann Institute of Science, who advises the Israeli government on COVID-19.

Unvaccinated people helped fuel the rapid spread of the virus while the country remained open for business in recent months with few serious restrictions.

“That will lead to mass infection, which is exactly what we are seeing now,” said Segal.

5. Vaccinations are key, but they are not enough.

Israel is trying to slow the wave without resorting to a new lockdown, which Prime Minister Naftali Bennett says would take an economic toll and “destroy the future of the country.” The country is placing caps on gatherings, increasing hospital staff and pleading for unvaccinated people to get immunized.

On Israel’s doorstep, the vaccination rate is much lower in the Israeli-occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Only around 8% of Palestinians have been fully vaccinated. Palestinians are wary of certain brands of vaccine in ample supply, like AstraZeneca’s, while Pfizer-BioNTech’s vaccine is in shorter supply for Palestinians. But the Palestinian population is not a source of transmission in Israel. Only vaccinated Palestinians are given permits to enter Israel and Israeli settlements.

As for the low rate of vaccination in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, “we don’t have a shortage of vaccine. It is the hesitancy,” said Randa Abu Rabe, a local World Health Organization official working in the Palestinian territories.

6. Booster shots offer more protection — if you are one of the world’s lucky few to get them.

Israel is the first country to offer a third shot of the Pfizer vaccine in a nationwide booster campaign. Preliminary research in Israel suggests booster shots significantly increase protection against the coronavirus a week after a person receives the third dose.

Israeli national HMO Maccabi Healthcare Services, which conducted the preliminary study of 149,144 Israelis who received three Pfizer shots, said for Israelis above age 60, a Pfizer booster shot reduced the chances of infection by 86% and reduced the chances of severe infection by 92%.

The early data reflects studies by vaccine-makers Pfizer and Moderna and provides a glimpse at boosters’ effects in a real-world setting.

After reviewing data on breakthrough infections in Israel, the U.S. announced a booster shot campaign beginning in late September for anyone eight months after their second shot. The U.K. has promised boosters soon, and Turkey is offering Pfizer shots to those immunized with the Sinovac vaccine to help citizens planning to travel, since some countries will not recognize the Chinese vaccine.

Israel has lowered the minimum age for boosters to 40. “The triple dose is the solution to curbing the current infection outbreak,” Anat Ekka Zohar of Maccabi said in a statement.

Boosters are not being offered in the Palestinian territories yet, and the World Health Organization has called on countries to stop giving COVID-19 booster shots in order to help poorer countries get vaccinated.

“Israel very much respects the World Health Organization but acts according to local considerations and the interests of Israeli citizens. We help the world a lot,” an Israeli health official told NPR, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about the issue. “If the U.N. didn’t secure enough vaccines for Chad, Mali, Myanmar and Guatemala, that doesn’t mean that Israel shouldn’t seek to prevent a pandemic from happening here.”

Experts warn if countries do not vaccinate their populations, more variants will develop, threatening even vaccinated nations.

America’s fakest “doctor” is back on television fearmongering about the so-called “delta variant” of the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19), admitting in the process that “vaccinated” people are actively spreading it to others.

Tony Fauci, appearing on the fake news program “Face the Nation,” explained to some robotic suit and tie that the “new thinking” surrounding the delta variant is that it easily spreads from person to person, including people who already got injected with a Trump Vaccine.

Fauci claims that he and his fellow career bureaucrats have determined that the delta variant easily creates “breakthrough” infections in the vaccinated, though the infections are supposedly minimal.

“But since no vaccine is 100 percent effective, you’re going to see breakthrough infections,” Fauci quickly added to try to justify the failure of Fauci Flu shots to prevent the Chinese Infection.

“But what we’ve learned that’s new, John, in answer to your question, is that when you look at the level of virus in the nasal pharynx of people who are vaccinated who get breakthrough infections, it’s really quite high and equivalent to the level of virus in the nasal pharynx of unvaccinated people who get infected – that’s very different from the alpha variant,” Fauci further added.

“The alpha variant, the level of virus in a vaccinated person was extremely low in the vaccinated people compared to the unvaccinated people – not so with delta. So, we know now that vaccinated people who get breakthrough infections can spread the virus to other people.”

Stay safe: Don’t get vaccinated for covid

Why, again, are people being told that they must get vaccinated for the Wuhan Flu? Oh, we forgot: to “minimize symptoms” and “prevent hospitalizations.” Too bad this is also not true, as evidenced by the vast majority of new hospitalizations being among the jabbed.

Furthermore, at least eight times more vaccinated people than unvaccinated people are dying from the Chinese Virus. This means you are safer if you skip the shot than if you obey Fauci’s orders and get it.

Somehow, Fauci and friends are getting away with speaking out of both sides of their mouth. On the one hand, everyone is supposed to get injected with a Fauci Flu shot to help “flatten the curve,” while on the other the injections are causing the curve to go parabolic.

Which is it? Are Chinese Virus injections really “safe and effective” as Fauci has long claimed or are they spreading more disease, including the dreaded “delta variant?” It would appear as though the latter is true, and yet Fauci is still telling people to get jabbed.

Nothing makes any sense anymore, even as the medical fascists openly admit that Chinese Virus shots are failing to stop the spread as the government claimed they would all last year.

Everyone who already took the shot, believing it to be the final solution to the Wuhan Flu, must be reeling with horror as Fauci fesses up to the fact that they do not work. Everyone else will continue to stay far, far away from the injections for their own safety.

“Fauxi is a worthless bureaucratic hack,” wrote one commenter at Citizen Free Press. “He should be on death row for his crimes.”

“The reason Fauci’s comments are so disjointed and confusing is because the engineering and release of Covid-19 was a political operation, and not ‘accidental’ like they claim, so governmental damage control (Fauci backed up by propaganda media and censor media) must alter the information every time the real truth exposes their lies,” wrote another.

France’s parliament voted to make vaccine passports a key part of daily life in the battle against Covid-19 this week, after a compromise between lawmakers from the upper and lower houses. Shortly after, France’s highest constitutional authority said it would rule next week on whether the new legislation will be accepted into law.

The Constitutional Council, which has the power to send laws back to the legislature and government for changes, said it would issue the ruling on August 5. The breakthrough in talks came a day after France was again shaken by protests against the rules that saw over 160,000 rally and dozens arrested.

President Emmanuel Macron last week ordered that vaccine passports — proof of full vaccination or a negative test — would be required for the French to visit venues such as cinemas or nightclubs. The announcement was a move by Macron to make vaccinations the top weapon against Covid-19 as new variants emerge, essentially requiring people to become vaccinated if they want to continue daily routines.

Those changes were implemented by decree, but parliament has been engaged in a marathon session since last week debating whether to extend them. Vaccine passports have encountered fierce opposition from some, who believe they erode civil liberties.

The ruling party has faced a tough task pushing the legislation through parliament. Pro-Macron MPs control the National Assembly, but the Senate — the upper house — is dominated by the opposition right.

The Senate had approved the legislation but added numerous amendments that the government feared risked limiting its impact. The two sides held three hours of talks Sunday, finding a compromise to pass the bill that evening by a large majority: 156 votes for, 60 against and 14 abstentions.

The legislation still needs to be approved by France’s highest administrative authority, the Constitutional Council, before becoming law — an extra step requested by Prime Minister Jean Castex.

Compromise deal

Macron’s announcement had already made the health pass compulsory for cinemas, museums and any venue gathering more than 50 people. The new legislation would make it compulsory from August for air travel and inter-city trains, as well as for visiting cafes and restaurants.

It would also make vaccinations obligatory for health workers and caregivers. The Senate wanted the legislation to be more mindful of civil liberties.

Parliamentary sources said the compromise means the system will only continue after November 15 following a new vote. The deal also limits the enforcement role of the police, and makes clear that health workers and caregivers who refuse vaccinations will not automatically be sacked but have their salary suspended.

“COVID is temporary, but firings are final,” argued one Republican member of the Senate, Philippe Bas. Some 161,000 people, including 11,000 in Paris, had protested Saturday against requiring vaccine passports for dining out and cinema visits.

Seventy-one people were arrested and 29 members of the security forces were injured, the ministry of the interior said.

Vaccine passports controversy

President Macron scoffed at how slogans of freedom were being brandished at the protests. “Everyone is free to express themselves calmly with respect for the other,” he said. “But freedom where I owe nothing to someone else does not exist”.

Macron said that under such logic, relatives could be infected by someone who is not vaccinated, or the person could themselves end up in hospital. “I don’t call this freedom, I call this irresponsibility and egoism.”

By maximizing vaccinations, the French government wants to minimize the impact of the fourth coronavirus wave. Some 40 million people should have received at least one shot by this week.

France recorded almost 23,000 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, twice as many as last week, as the Delta variant caused a surge. But in figures the government credits to vaccinations, there are 878 Covid-19 patients in intensive care, compared with a peak of almost 6,000 at the end of April.
