Greetings from Tyler,

To hear the media tell it, we’re all in grave danger. Trump however goes on and on, telling us not to worry about an Iranian attack. They’re destroyed. I don’t know why they keep putting on such a brave face. Maybe because they know the media is buying it. Iran has been a sore spot longer than we can remember, and they’ve been calling us something I won’t dare to repeat. But they never saw Donald Trump coming. Neither did we.

The war in Iran goes on, but Trump says not much longer. He’s calling the shots and I believe him. They’re down to their second or third string for Ayatollah. Nobody wants to emerge as Iran’s new leader. For obvious reasons.

I still don’t like Zelensky. Ever since I saw that he was with a comedy troupe with who-knows-whose legs in the air. He should have known better. But the war goes on, and I don’t think that relations are getting any better. Putin may be an oligarch, but Zelensky…

The lines around airports are bad and getting worse. I wouldn’t mind if they disbanded the TSA altogether. I’ve not told this story before, but Dad and I traveled to Australia in the winter before he died. Winter over here means Summer in Australia. They searched us thoroughly before we were allowed to board the airplane. I was mad. But the TSA is blind. Especially now that they got these X-ray machines. I know there’s a way to go to the shorter line, but there wasn’t then, and I resent it. Not only that, but the TSA agents were mostly foreigners. GRRRR.

All of a sudden, with the advent of Donald Trump (he flies private and has never been groped) we’re talking about expansion. The power is out in Cuba. We’re talking about taking over Greenland, and who wouldn’t want to be part of our glorious country? I marvel at how we’ve been blessed.

Weather has turned great here, and you people up North don’t have long to wait. I talked to a friend and the weather is great in Vancouver. But they’re not happy with their leadership. Me? I’m happy.

Cubans are struggling with blackouts and fuel rationing amid President Trump’s campaign to provoke regime change by choking off the energy supply of the island nation, which is heavily dependent on fuel imports.

Trump last month threatened to impose tariffs on any country that sends oil to Cuba, labelling the island “an unusual and extraordinary threat” to U.S. national security. He noted the Cuban government’s relations with Russia, China, and Iran as evidence of that threat, which, Trump suggested, would present as “migration and violence.”

The island’s biggest oil supplier was out of the picture already, since that was Venezuela, and the United States effectively took control of the country’s oil industry following the ousting of President Nicolas Maduro.

The UK government has told local authorities to crack down on people using wood-burning stoves to keep warm with fines of £300 or potentially criminal prosecutions for those who continually refuse to abide by state climate diktats.

Amid the energy crisis in Britain, which came to fruition in large part as a result of the Conservative Party-led governments over the past ten years obsession with implementing globalist green agenda policies while refusing to tap the nation’s more reliable natural resources such as natural gas, the use of wood-burning stoves have soared.

Now, local authorities have been told by the government in Westminster to use the 2021 Environment Act to impose spot fines of £175 to £300 on those who use wood-fire stoves that do not meet state standards on air pollution, The Times of London reported.

Local councils were also informed that for those who continually breach the codes, they could also seek criminal prosecutions that could land citizens with a criminal record and fines of £5,000 and an additional £2,500 for every additional day that they use wood to heat their homes.

Brent crude prices have been on a sharp decline since peaking in June, nearly giving up all the year’s gains. And Credit Suisse says the selloff is not yet over.

“The market remains well below its 55-Day Moving Average and 200DMA at 89.01 and 100.67, and with medium-term momentum declining and global growth concerns looming, we think further weakness is likely to follow. Brent is likely in due course to see further downside towards the 61.8% retracement at 63.02, where we would have higher confidence of a more stable floor and for a consolidation phase to emerge.”

Not everybody is that bearish, though.

Eric Nuttall, partner and senior portfolio manager at Ninepoint Partners LP, has told the Financial Post that oil prices will return to $100 per barrel in 2023. According to the analysts, many of the headwinds that have cut short the oil price rally this year, including China’s zero-Covid policy and the coordinated SPR releases by several governments, will no longer be there in 2023. Coupled with sanctions on Russia’s oil and gas, this should elevate oil prices. He has also predicted that the energy sector will continue to outperform other market sectors due to high demand in oil and gas stocks.

The deal will inject about $7.9 billion into the company via a capital boost at $1.68 a share, according to Uniper’s website.

Since the stabilization package for Uniper was agreed in July, Uniper’s situation has further deteriorated rapidly and significantly; as such, new measures to resolve the situation have been agreed,” announced Fortum in a statement.

The state-owned German bank KfW, which has already provided S12.84 billion in credit, will provide further financing to Uniper, according to its liquidity needs until the deal is sealed.

The total rescue package will cost the government around $29 billion, reported Bloomberg.

This will give the state control of 98.5 percent of the shares of the German utility company.

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – The operator of the state’s power grid warned of an increasing likelihood of power shortages Tuesday unless consumers can reduce their energy use even more than they have so far, as California continued to bake under an unusually long heat wave that has produced record high temperatures.

The California Independent System Operator extended a Flex Alert until Tuesday, urging residents to take all possible measures to conserve electricity during the peak hours of 4-9 p.m. for the seventh consecutive day.

“This is an extraordinary heat event we are experiencing, and the efforts by consumers to lean in and reduce their energy use after 4 p.m. are absolutely essential,” said Elliot Mainzer, the California ISO’s president and CEO.

“Over the last several days we have seen a positive impact on lowering demand because of everyone’s help, but now we need a reduction in energy use that is two or three times greater than what we’ve seen so far as this historic heat wave continues to intensify,” he added.
