]]> At least 76 people have been killed in a fire that engulfed a popular Turkish ski resort hotel, leaving some to jump out of windows.

The fire broke out at the wooden-clad 12-storey Grand Kartal Hotel in Bolu at 03:27 local time (00:27 GMT) during a busy holiday period when 234 people were staying there.

An initial toll of 10 dead was raised significantly in the hours after the fire by Turkey’s interior ministry. At least two people died after trying to jump to safety.

It took 12 hours for the fire to be put out. Nine people have been arrested, including the owner, the justice minister says.

A man set himself on fire outside the courthouse in Manhattan where former President Donald Trump’s hush-money trial is being held.

After dousing himself in a liquid, he threw pamphlets in the air in front of news media gathered nearby.

The man’s motive is unknown and police are on the scene.

Mr Trump was inside the building to attend jury selection, where he has been accompanied by a major security detail, but has since left.

]]> Flames tore through the historic building in Denmark’s capital on Tuesday, toppling its iconic spire.

One of Copenhagen’s oldest buildings went up in flames on Tuesday.

The blaze caused the 17th-century Old Stock Exchange to collapse, as passersby rushed to help emergency services save priceless paintings and other valuables.

Danish Culture Minister Jakob Engel-Schmidt said it was “touching” to see how many people lent their hand “to save art treasures and iconic images from the burning building.”

One man jumped off his bicycle on his way to work to help.

Brian Mikkelsen, chief of the Danish Chamber of Commerce, headquartered in the Old Stock Exchange, and his staff scrolled through an index of paintings to be saved.

The works were carried to the nearby parliament and Danish National Archives around the corner.

“We have been able to rescue a lot,” a visibly moved Mikkelsen told reporters. “It is a national disaster.”

The fire erupted Monday night at a migrant detention center across the border from El Paso, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador confirmed Tuesday morning. Obrador said the fire was started by the migrants after they learned they would be deported, according to the Associated Press.

Authorities previously said eight to 12 people were feared dead, per the El Paso Times, but that number began quickly rising.
