NEW YORK CITY – New Yorkers admit to feeling the impacts of rising crime but told Fox News they expect “absolutely nothing” to come from President Biden’s meeting with the mayor Thursday.

Biden will travel to New York City Thursday to discuss a “comprehensive strategy to combat gun crime” with Mayor Eric Adams.

The president’s trip comes after thousands of police officers from across the nation traveled to Manhattan to pay their respects to fallen NYPD officers Jason Rivera and Wilbert Mora, who were shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence call last.

“I think it’s a total waste,” one woman said of the president’s visit to the city. “He’s going to do absolutely nothing to help New York City.”

“Political – it’s all political,” the 75-year-old lifelong New Yorker continued. “That’s why he’s coming. No other reason.”

The Biden administration on Thursday morning rolled out a strategy to stop the flow of guns, bolster law enforcement and increase funding for community policing ahead of the visit.

New York City saw 485 people murdered last year, a slight increase from 2020. It also experienced a sharp rise in hate crimes and an increase in almost all categories of major crimes. Additionally, subway crimes are up 65% so far in 2022.

“I cannot believe what’s happened in this city,” one resident of the Big Apple told Fox News. “Crime is out of control.”

“I know people who won’t get on the subway,” another woman said. “People rearrange their day around it…it definitely has an impact, especially for women.”

One woman who owns a business in Manhattan said, “My customers, they’re very afraid, after 5 o’clock, to walk in the city.”

“My mom calls me every night, she’s scared to go out,” a construction worker told Fox News. “Unfortunately, where she lives at, crime is up in the Bronx.”

“A lot of people are doing bad,” the man continued. “You know, COVID – when people don’t have money, crime goes up.”

One woman said the rise in crime started even before the pandemic hit.

“When they passed the bail and discovery laws, the state legislature passed them, Cuomo pushed them through, and it’s changed everything,” she said, referring to former Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

“Sadly, no one is caring, nobody’s taking care of these issues,” she continued.

When asked if they thought the president’s visit would bring positive change, many were skeptical: “Every president, they sell dreams. Let’s see what happens,” one said.

Racism and discrimination against Black people are widespread in Germany, especially in the education, housing market, and healthcare sectors, according to a new report released on Tuesday.

The “#Afrozensus 2020” survey was conducted by Berlin-based group Each One Teach One together with Citizens for Europe, through online interviews with nearly 6,000 Black, African, and Afro-diasporic individuals in Germany.

Nearly two-thirds of the people (67.6%) that participated in the survey said they received lower grades than other classmates due to racial attributes at school or university.

Racial discrimination in the housing market remains a widespread problem according to the survey, with 83.4% of the respondents with African/Afrodiasporic parents saying they experienced discriminatory treatment.

Some 66.7% of the respondents agreed with the statement “My doctor does not take my complaints seriously.”

“The results of the #Afrozensus indicate that anti-Black racism (ASR) is widespread in Germany and entrenched in institutions. Criminalization, exoticization, and sexualization are just three of the many patterns through which anti-Black racism is characterized and experienced by many respondents,” the researchers said in their report.

Many respondents said they frequently experience discrimination when having contact with the police or other public authorities.

Despite laws banning racial profiling in Germany, over 56% said they were stopped by the police for no reason, and many of them were asked if they were selling drugs.

In the last two years, nearly 24% of those surveyed experienced discrimination by the police officers, largely due to their color and ethnic background.

The report called on authorities to develop action plans to combat anti-Black racism, support community centers of Black, African, and Afrodiasporic people, and open counseling centers for the victims of racism, discrimination, and hate crimes.

In the post, congresswoman Päivi Räsänen, a Christian Democrat, criticized the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland for participating in the Helsinki LGBT Pride events in June. Her criticism was alongside a picture of Romans 1:24-27 that describes same-sex relationships as “shameful.”

Her post made Räsänen the subject of a pretrial investigation by the Finnish Police for a suspected incitement against sexual and gender minorities.

“The pre-trial investigations have not yet been completed. Police will provide more details once the investigations have been completed or presented to a prosecutor for consideration of charges,” the Helsinki Police Department officer in charge of the investigation told the Helsinki Times.

Räsänen, who is a member of and is married to a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland (ELCF), came under fire for her June Facebook post: “How can the church’s doctrinal foundation, the Bible, be compatible with the lifting up of shame and sin as a subject of pride? #LGBT #HelsinkiPride2019.”

It is Friday afternoon and as we’ve learned, big news often drops sometime in the evening.   There will probably be something that should have been addressed in the update, but was intentionally kept until the evening for whatever strategic reason. That may be the case, but there’s no shortage of matters that deserve attention.   Sometimes we wish there were. We’ll probably hear that they’ve REALLY got Trump, for sure this time.   That’ll probably be it.

You may remember the information relayed a couple of weeks ago, about the man behind the curtain in EU leadership.   His name is Martin Selmayer, as was relayed in our last monthly letter.   An article this week suggests that the Brexit “formula,” rejected by the British Parliament, was written in Berlin!   No wonder the thing left all manner of European rules in place.   No wonder that Prime Minister Theresa May was unable to renegotiate, even around the margins, with European leaders.   They couldn’t change the terms of the agreement anyway.   The terms were apparently laid out behind the scenes by someone with authority.

There’s no way we can tell you how this comes out.   The possibility of a “hard Brexit” at the end of this month still exists.   If Britain pulls the plug with no agreements in place, chances are the EU will make it as difficult as possible.   That’s the concern, that Britain will suffer in trade, travel and that English citizens living and working in Europe will find things they took for granted impossible. The British Parliament is due to hold another vote on the Brexit plan it already shot down, apparently with minor changes that do nothing to address the big problems that led to its demise last time.  There’s also the possibility of another delay.   We’ll see.

 Phony “hate crimes” are still being manufactured regularly.   Nobody seems to learn their lesson.   There are at least TWO more this week alone.   Mainstream outlets report these incidents (or false reports) soberly, even when they’re wildly suspicious. It just goes to show you the media can no longer be relied upon for accurate reporting, and will undoubtedly mislead the public with their analysis.   The most irritating aspect of this is that there apparently is a sizable audience for Fake News. While we turn it off in disgust, there are at least a couple million who hang on every word.   They probably even stay put for the commercials!

You’re doubtless aware that recent records are being shattered for the sheer numbers walking into the United States.   Since the vast majority are now “other than Mexicans,” they can’t be deported back across the border thanks to laws that congress thinks are just fine. Detention centers are bursting at the seams and thousands of people are being released into society. There’s no hope for the situation unless it’s made nearly impossible by some kind of barrier.   Meanwhile, the United States is an economic playground for whoever is willing to cough up enough cash for the smugglers.

The good news this week, if it actually sticks, is that the President is going to require universities to allow FREE SPEECH on their campuses if they expect to continue receiving Federal funding.   It’s unbelievable that universities were the one’s that went to wild extremes to claim their right to free speech.   Apparently it was only socialist/communist/anti-American speech they wanted to promote. Since radical socialist dogma has taken hold, they’ve allowed conservative speakers to be verbally and physically threatened.   They’ve promoted “safe-places” and declared themselves “sanctuaries” from everything that might “offend” socialist snow-flakes.

The other thing that will undoubtedly bring a wave of lawsuits and feigned outrage on your favorite mainstream outlet, is that the President says Planned Parenthood is going to have to physically separate facilities that render all those benign tests and treatments from those that provide the “services” for which they are best known.

Not to reiterate so much that has come before, but have you noticed that famous people and politicians swap positions and arguments at the drop of a hat?   It used to be that the anti-American contingent was anti-war at all costs, and you’ve heard the arguments that began in the 60’s.   Lately everyone’s hair catches fire at any hint of bringing our troops home from Syria.   Or Afghanistan. They say in all seriousness that it’s proof the President has lost his mind.   Question the continued necessity of NATO, now some 23 nations that predominantly rely on the U. S. for their defense?   Many have not lived up to their financial obligations.   Maybe that never occurred to anybody who’s called upon to call the President crazy, but it might be that he’s playing to another audience for strategic reasons.   Same goes for statements regarding North Korea and Kim Jong-un.   And for that matter, Russia! These wretched TV panels, sometimes eight or more at a time, want to diagram every sentence so they can claim, “He lied again!”   They’re not on the up and up, and we know it.

One more thing. The Royal Palace has denied in the strongest terms the report last week that Prince Harry and Meghan intend to raise their baby as “gender-neutral.”   Hard to know what’s gone on behind the scenes.   We hope it was more of the disinformation to which we’ve become accustomed.

Israeli flags were burned Wednesday in Northern Ireland, along with various other flags, as part of an annual ritual bonfire by nationalists described by local police as a “hate crime.”

British Union flags adorned a huge bonfire set alight in the city of Derry by the Northern Irish Republicans, who support independence from the United Kingdom.

A banner bearing the name of US President Donald Trump and his slogan, “Make America Great Again,” was also burned.

Also set ablaze were posters with the names of four police officers murdered by protesters in the 1970s, prompting relatives of the officers to slam those responsible.

The Republicans repeat the ritual in the neighborhood of Bogside every year on August 15, to commemorate the killing of 14 protesters by British soldiers in 1972 — an incident known as Bloody Sunday. Israeli flags were burned last year too.

Disgusting scenes in Derry, Northern Ireland as terrorist-sympathizing Irish Republicans set alight a bonfire of Union and Northern Ireland flags and poppy wreaths containing the names of NI police officers murdered by the IRA. Sickening and pathetic!

On Wednesday, there were Palestinian flags flying next to the murals honoring the dead protesters.

Northern Irish nationalists are traditionally pro-Palestinian, viewing the Palestinian struggle to achieve statehood as similar to their own.

After the bonfire was set ablaze, three petrol bombs were reportedly hurled at Derry’s ancient city walls, with a suspect being arrested.

“We take hate crime very seriously and actively investigate all incidents reported to us,” said local police inspector Paul McCracken, quoted by British media.

“Hate crime is wrong on all levels and the Police Service of Northern Ireland will do everything it can to ensure that everyone, from whatever background, can live free from prejudice, fear and discrimination,” he added.
