Greetings from Tyler,

Hurricane Helene has racked up a death toll to compare with the deadliest hurricanes of all time. Some of our people were caught up, stranded in the devastation it caused. It will be some time before they come out with all the statistics, but it was, and is awful. It rates alongside the worst of all time. It particularly tore up Asheville, North Carolina.

Now we hear that Disaster Relief funds have been depleted by funding the illegal immigrants. This is going to get weird, and right before possibly the most important election we’ll ever have.  

Israel seems to be disregarding all the outrage and breast-beating by the international community. They’re going into Lebanon on foot. How deep, nobody knows. First the pagers went off, and now Israel is targeting the leadership.  Nasrallah has been killed along with several other leaders of Hezbollah. It looks like Israel is determined that this never happens again, and is willing to disregard all the discussion about “proportionality.”

Since when did war become about proportionality? It looks like Israel is going to take the opportunity to make sure something like Oct 7^th doesn’t happen again for a long time.  There are still hostages.  No telling what is happening to them or if they’re still alive.  But this terrorist stuff has got to stop, regardless. 

Iran has fired nearly 200 missiles at Israel.  Most of them, intercepted and shot down.  One guy got a shrapnel wound.  Still, they have the satisfaction of firing them and dreaming of the damage they might cause.  They’re mad all over the Arab world, making life very uncomfortable for the leaders who’ve tried to moderate.  This time it looks like they’ve kicked over a hornet’s nest.  It may never be over.

This is the Fall Holy Day season.  We had a wonderful Feast of Trumpets yesterday and are planning for the Day of Atonement on the Sabbath next week.  Michael, Melody and family are planning to drive to Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky. I’m going to be in PCB. My Mom used to tug my sleeve when I’d start talking out loud in airports. Needless to say, I’m not flying to all the sites this year.  

I imagine we’re all tired of what’s going on. Notice that gas prices are falling? Don’t get used to it if the current regime remains in charge. Kamala has to bus her crowd to give a speech and make it look like she’s got support. You have to camp to get into a Trump rally. But the mainstream is not done. They’re trying to link him to something that will make us turn away. It turns out he attended some P. Diddy (or whatever he’s calling himself) party. But it was a long time ago, and he had Melania with him. They’ll try to make something of it, even if there’s nothing.

It’s hard to believe that it’s Feast time again. The Feast runs from October 17^th through October 24 which is the Last Great Day. The way things are going, the prophetic fulfillment may not be as far off as we think.  

Say a prayer for those who suffered the wrath of the hurricane. And that no more are coming.

Spruce Pine is home to two mines that are a key source of high-purity quartz. This crucial material is used to make the chips that power everything from smartphones to data centers, with experts warning that any long-term damage risks disrupting global supply chains.

Sibelco, the owner of one of the mines, confirmed in an email to Business Insider that it halted operations as of September 26 due to the “significant impact” of Hurricane Helene.

“The hurricane has caused widespread flooding, power outages, communication disruptions, and damage to critical infrastructure in the area,” said a Sibelco spokesperson.

Hurricane Helene tore up everything in its path, and some lost everything. Our hearts go out to Rick Ford who apparently got his place plowed and is staying elsewhere. Panama City Beach is apparently OK with some flooding in the low areas. But back toward the East they haven’t faired so well. The internet says there are cities pretty much underwater, at least a couple of feet in the streets. There are reportedly millions without power, multiple tornadoes and a death count of 47. It’s a catastrophe.

All the major pollsters have the presidential race a toss-up within the margin of error. But Kamala Harris is the leader in most of the major polls. I don’t know how that could be, but you figure it out. You don’t need me to tell you that the world is a mess, and there are further threats that haven’t been realized yet. Don’t we have enough trouble already?

It looks like Israel is ignoring all the breast-beating and hitting deep within Lebanon. They’re apparently going to make sure that another October 7 never happens again, at least for the foreseeable future. Some of the more moderate regimes in the Arab world have their hands tied, and have to make hostile statements and threats toward Israel whether they want to or not. That’s because there are elements within their domain that demand it. This Middle East trouble may get out of hand. Maybe it already has.

I don’t know what to say about Ukraine. It looks like Zelensky would involve everybody in a world war. This is another one that could get out of control. Trump says he’ll get that war settled before he enters the White House if elected. How? We don’t know. Trump apparently met with Zelensky at Trump Tower today, maybe we’ll hear more about it.

This is a time when we need to be praying for those in the path of Hurricane Helene, and for our country.

We’ve just wrapped up another issue of TCW magazine, and I’d be lying if I told you we’re not proud of it. It’s off to the printer, and should be waiting in your mailbox after the Feast. I plan to take some printer copies of it to show off at Panama City Beach.

The Feast of Trumpets is October 3, the Day of Atonement October 12 (Sabbath), and the Feast of Tabernacles begins on October 17 and runs through the last Great Day October 24. My son and his family are planning to be at the Feast site at Land Between the Lakes. They’re going to see this, so I’ll keep it brief. They both worked hard on this latest issue of Watch magazine, and are of tremendous help all the time.
