A spokesperson for the San Francisco Police Department said that officers responded just after 8 p.m. “to possible looting and vandalism to retail establishments in Union Square.”

Merchandise worth thousands of dollars was retrieved by police after stores including Jins Eyewear, Bloomingdale’s and Burberry were looted, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

San Francisco police Chief Bill Scott said that Hermes and Fendi stores were also damaged, but officers were able to intervene during the thefts. He said that eight people, all young adults, were arrested.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that this was not unplanned. Their plan was to overwhelm us. Their plan was hoping that we wouldn’t be here but we were,” Scott said during a news conference Saturday.

“The message here today is if you come to our city to commit those level of crimes, or to come and vandalize or to harm individuals, you will be held accountable,” San Francisco Mayor London Breed (D) added.

Meanwhile in Walnut Creek, Calif., roughly 25 miles east of San Francisco, police said that three people had been arrested and one firearm had been recovered following looting in a Nordstrom store, ABC7 News reported.

Walnut Creek police said that they first received reports of the incident before 9 p.m. local time and that 80 people were involved in the incident.

“We probably saw 50 to 80 people in ski masks (with) crowbars (and) a bunch of weapons. They were looting the Nordstrom’s right here. And I thought they were going to start beating cars. I had to start locking doors lock the front door lock the back door,” Brett Barrette, the manager of a PF Chang restaurant, told the San Francisco TV station.

Upscale department stores in and around Los Angeles and San Francisco during the past week were victims of incidents in which mobs of looters broke windows, beat and pepper-sprayed employees, and stole hundreds of thousands of dollars in goods.

Now, after several years of progressives demanding that cities defund the police, it appears the “smash-and-grab” trend is extending to other areas of the country as Black Friday begins the holiday shopping season. WBNS in Columbus, Ohio, reported that local law enforcement agencies were remaining vigilant to protect local business owners.

Some area businesses were preparing so they don’t become the next victim.

“We’re not concerned about the holsters or the t-shirts, we are concerned about the firearms. That will have a direct impact on others if they were to be stolen from the store. That’s something we are going to do everything in our power to prevent,” LEPD owner Eric Delbert said.

“It’s the atmosphere of our culture right now, the violence in the streets.”

In Western New York, police arrested three individuals after a string of “smash-and-grab” robberies, Rochester’s WHAM reported. The three people were the same suspects involved in a string of about 20 burglaries in 2020.

“We reached out to parole and found the people involved in that investigation were out of jail and this was very much the same identical thing as a year ago,” said Livingston Chief Deputy Dan Rittenhouse.

In Orono, Minnesota, police issued a statement saying there had been a few incidents of “smash-and-grab” crimes involving vehicles.

“This is typically a crime of opportunity which occurs in just a few minutes, and valuable items are quickly taken with damage left behind,” the Orono Police Department statement said.

In Fargo, North Dakota, police officers responded to four reports of “smash-and-grab” thefts within two hours Saturday evening, KVRR reported.

The Daily Mail reported that organized crime syndicates were paying thieves in California as little as $500 to swipe items worth thousands, a law enforcement official said.

“We´re not talking about someone who needs money or needs food. These are people who go out and do this is for high profit, and for the thrill,” Ben Dugan, president of the Coalition of Law Enforcement and Retail, told the Daily Mail.

“Fact is, with police overwhelmed, woke prosecutors refusing to make such crimes a priority and criminal penalties heavily reduced, looters (and the crime rings they work for) often face little or no consequences,” the New York Post editorial board said. “Organized retail robbery has become a rational career choice.”

Progressive lawmakers and judges unwilling to support law enforcement has had an effect on police officers.

“Why should a police officer waste time getting into an altercation when the person is not going to jail?” Pete Eliadis, a former law enforcement official and founder of Intelligence Consulting Partners, told the Post.

Two Los Angeles-area Nordstroms were robbed this week, with the first incident involving at least 20 people doing the looting.

In Walnut Creek, California, near San Francisco, a mob of 80 stormed a Nordstrom on Saturday, attacking employees and grabbing merchandise by the armful. A day earlier, a mob hit San Francisco’s Union Square, targeting 10 retailers.

Three carloads of people last week robbed a Neiman Marcus on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, a shopping district that has seen skyrocketing theft, CBS Chicago reported.

The backdrop of a summer of civil unrest in America’s largest cities and the ongoing coronavirus pandemic looms large as motivated voters prepare to submit their ballots for president in less than two weeks.

Police departments – many of which saw days, weeks, and even monthslong anti-police brutality protests and riots this summer – said they are hoping for the best when voters hit the polls on Nov. 3, but are also preparing for the worst in the days before and after.

“There is no secret that this election is more contentious than in years’ past,” said New York Police Department’s Chief of Department, Terence Monahan, during a Tuesday press conference covering election preparedness. The NYPD is one of many departments throughout the country with a plan in case any protests devolve into criminal activity.

THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION COMES DOWN TO THESE 9 STATES

Chicago, much like New York City, has seen spurts of civil unrest, including devastating looting downtown. Its police department is now working with several city agencies in a coordinated effort to be prepared for any fallout, whether at the polls or on the streets, during the election period.

Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown said at a recent news conference that police and emergency officials are training to make sure they’re ready “regardless of whatever scenario happens on Election Day.”

“Many cities across the country are doing similar planning,” he said last week. “We are all in conversations with our counterparts across the country about what we might expect, but everything is uncertain, and so we’re trying as best we can to anticipate any hazard that might happen, including a weather hazard, snow might happen in our city, along with anything related to protests, embedded agitators that might loot or cause violence or destroy property.”

Even without the prevalent unrest in certain parts of the country, this year’s election will nonetheless look different. People have the option of voting early and by mail, and officials anticipate clear results might take days, if not weeks.

Here are what some police departments in big cities have to say about their plans to best ensure every American stays safe before, during, and after Election Day.

MIAMI

Miami Police Chief Jorge Colina told Fox News this week that it was “difficult to tell” what kind of unrest – if any – the city will face in the days leading up to the election.

“We’re going to have more people working, a bigger, more robust uniformed presence. And then we’re going to have some undercover officers that will go by polling places,” he said.

Colina said the city will also be prepared with groups of officers who could mobilize at short notice, “especially those groups that want to create havoc.”

He told Fox News he believes the protests could look different depending on who is ultimately elected president.

“This state [Florida] is up for grabs, according to the polls. This is a state that both candidates covet, obviously, and that’s always been the case,” he said. “I can’t help but wonder that if that’s not going to inspire some fringe groups to want to do their part to win it for one or the other. And that’s where it gets a little dangerous because people, you know, they become extreme.”

His concerns, he said, are not based on any credible threats, but he plans to be ready, nonetheless.

“I know that these kinds of things exist, right? Where people want to come out and they want to create an issue and then blame it on the other. I mean, we’ve seen that we’ve seen that. So I’m hoping that that’s not the case again,” Colina said. “Again, I think we’re gonna be fine, but I recognize that, certainly, that could happen because this state is up for grabs.”

During a press conference on Monday, Colina said the department had canceled vacation days and days off during the election period and will deploy additional officers. The department has also instructed every sworn officer, whether assigned to a desk job or patrol duty, to bring their uniform to work in case a greater police presence is needed.

“The truth is, this is a very contentious election cycle. Unlike we haven’t seen in many, many years,” he said during the news conference. “We have a very savvy community here who understands that some people may want to take actions into their own hands and try to and swing some votes. We just want to make sure that we don’t allow that to take place.”

NEW YORK CITY

Said to be the largest police force in the nation, the NYPD is directing its officers to be “prepared for deployment” beginning Oct. 26, as it braces for increasing protests in the lead-up to and following Election Day 2020, according to an internal memo from Oct. 13 obtained by Fox News.

NYPD brass are planning for potential civil unrest as New York City and the nation begin a contentious series of weeks, starting with the U.S. Senate confirmation hearing for U.S. Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett and coupled with the upcoming presidential election, Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said in the internal announcement.

“This November 3rd will be the (sic) one of the most highly contested presidential elections in the modern era,” Shea wrote, noting that Barrett’s confirmation hearing was set to begin at the same time of the missive’s release. “Accordingly, we should anticipate and prepare for protests growing in size, frequency, and intensity leading up to the election and likely into the year 2021.”

Shea also noted that the election winner “may not be decided for several weeks,” and the confirmation hearing was also expected to continue for weeks.

During an interview later that day, Shea told local news station NY1 that the department wanted to be ready for anything.

“It would be nice if we had an uneventful fall season, but this is 2020,” he said during the Oct. 13 interview. “It’s really all-hands-on-deck across the NYPD and this is really about, listen everyone is well aware of the climate right now in this country, certainly here in this city and the election coming up and it’s our job to prepare for the worst and hopefully it’s not needed.”

Accordingly, the NYPD has instructed hundreds of officers to come to work in uniform and ready for duty beginning on Oct. 26, Monahan said during a Tuesday afternoon news conference.

PORTLAND

No stranger to violent protests that have, at times, devolved into riots, Portland Police Bureau is working with Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office and will be upping law enforcement staffing during and following the election period “as a precaution,” the department said in a press release last week.

“In the past, some individuals and groups have gathered and marched following the election results, both in celebration and sometimes because they are angered or upset. In some instances, significant damage was done to local businesses, which did not change the election outcome, but hurt our community members,” the release states. “While we promote and support the exercise of the First Amendment rights to assemble and engage in free speech, engagement in criminal activity will not be tolerated.”

PPB officials said they will not tolerate any demonstrators blocking pedestrian and vehicular traffic, lighting fires, “vandalizing and damaging property,” illegal use of weapons and violence.

“We’re just trying to prepare and coordinate to increase safety during that time,” Officer Derek Carmon, a PPB spokesperson, told Fox News on Monday. “We’ve seen in the past where people come out because they’re either excited about the election results or they’re completely unhappy with the election results and they come down causing damage and things like that in the past. So we’re just trying to be prepared for that by having more officers available.”

Carmon said the department is not allowing officers to take any vacation days during and in the days following the election period, but had not established specific requirements of personnel during that time.

PPB Chief Chuck Lovell said in a prepared statement that this election season “has increased fear and uncertainty for many of our community members.”

“We want our community to know we are prioritizing public safety by adding resources and collaboration during this important time. We ask for the public to help us by reporting criminal activity, staying informed, and engaging in lawful activities. Together, we can achieve a safe election season in Portland,” Lovell said.

SEATTLE

In gearing up for the election period, Seattle Police Department set a limit to the time off allowed for personnel around the time of Election Day “to ensure the department is able to adequately provide public safety services at any events, gatherings or demonstrations related to the election,” said SPD spokesperson Sgt. Randall Huserik.

Huserik also said SPD recently launched its Community Response Group, to “dynamically deploy to unplanned large-scale events and ensure SPD is able to quickly respond to 911 emergencies,” in case such a response is needed.

ORLANDO

Though not particularly known for experiencing unrest in recent months, Orlando Police Department officials are working with the Supervisor of Elections office to ensure the election period goes smoothly, Sgt. David Baker, a spokesperson for OPD told Fox News.

“The Supervisor of Elections does have a protocol in place to contact law enforcement if individuals are disruptive and unruly and violating Florida statutes related to voting, including the 150-foot no-solicitation zone near the entrance of polling places,” Baker wrote in an emailed statement.

MINNEAPOLIS

Minneapolis is also no stranger to civil unrest, which rocked the city in the wake of the alleged police-related death of local resident, George Floyd. Floyd, a Black man, died at the end of May after a White police officer held his knee on Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes, despite his shouts that he couldn’t breathe. Days of protests and destruction in the city followed.

Minneapolis Police Department’s public information officer, John Elder, said in an email to Fox News the department continues to “plan for the worst and hope for the best.”

“We are aware of current and future possible flashpoints that present challenges on both a local and national level,” Elder said. “We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners, local, regionally, and federally in order to properly respond to situations as they unfold.  Additionally, we are keeping lines of communication open with the communities we serve and working with everyone we can to ensure 1st Amendment rights are preserved and providing a safe environment for all.”

Elder could not provide any more specific details regarding the department’s plans.

CHICAGO

Superintendent David Brown said during a press conference earlier this month that the police department and several other city agencies have scheduled several tabletop exercises in the lead-up to Election Day to ensure officials were prepared for whatever might happen.

The department, he said, was “making sure that we are in our neighborhoods in a very strong posture to make sure our, not only our First Amendment, but that our assets, that our critical infrastructure, that our retail corridors are all protected from any wrongdoers.”

Just months ago, caravans of looters descended upon Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, where they looted and destroyed property just hours after allegedly false information about a police-involved shooting spread. The looters coordinated their efforts through social media, Brown said at the time.

The police department has now prepared for similar instances, as well as any other election-related crimes, by assigning specific groups to oversee protests and protect “critical infrastructure,” Brown said at last week’s election-related press conference.

CPD has also extended certain officers’ shifts and canceled the days off for those members who have been assigned to the specific teams, he said.

Brown noted that he believed there was a “coordinated effort” during summer protests “to embed agitators” within the otherwise peaceful demonstrations. He’s planning, he said, in case that’s also a feature of election-related protests.

“So from those lessons learned from over the summer, we are planning for that to be a feature of peaceful protests: a slight embedment of people who have no intention of protesting but every intention of committing crime,” Brown said. “So, instead of being caught off-guard we are planning for that to happen and we have operations in place to ensure that they don’t destroy property, that they don’t cause any further violence and that they’re held accountable.”

PHILADELPHIA

No one dares talk back, let alone do anything to stop the communist takeover underway.  If Trump does anything they’ll call him a dictator, which of course, they do anyway.  The mayors and police authorities in the smoldering cities won’t do much.  They’re taking a knee, in some cases literally bowing down before crowds capable of destroying everything in sight if provoked.

Every big-name company and corporation is bowing down, or in many cases actually giving large sums of money, or should we say buying protection—mafia style—to the organizations that are funding the mob.  And it’s not just Black Lives Matter, although the admittedly Marxist outfit obviously welcomes the muscle of the anarchists, the rainbow crowd and every other dispossessed misfit. They’ve joined together to insist that all law enforcement is intrinsically racist, and so are you!  Any denial will get you beat to a pulp.  If you get in the way of the mob, you won’t even have a chance to make such a denial, which anyway would be proof of guilt to the goons.  Assuming these people wreaking havoc know something about anything, which is highly doubtful.

Watching everybody take a knee in fear, meet the mob half way, accept the destruction of our history, and “take responsibility” for things that happened in another era is the most pitiful display ever witnessed.  The media has determined that they will make us kneel!  Make us wear a mask, regardless!  Force an admission of racism or else.

Now there’s another preposterous accusation, and we’re supposed to believe it this time.  With somber tones and straight faces, the “news” people told us that Trump was “colluding with Russia.”  They told us that he was Putin’s puppet, doing Russia’s bidding from the Oval Office.  And Mike Flynn was betraying the United States, and conniving with the Kremlin in secret phone calls.  For three years the “news” media maintained it’s somber demeanor while they accused the most patriotic of Americans of sedition, perhaps treason.  They ridiculed everyone who didn’t buy their idiotic claims, calling us stupid and unwilling to accept reality.

When it blew up in their faces after three years of pumping out the story day and night, they hardly noticed that their big investigation yielded nothing beyond the deep-state coup that they insisted was a conspiracy theory.  Maybe that’s because the “news” media was up to its eyeballs in the farce, complicit in reporting every false story from their “insiders” and “whistle-blowers.”  The whole thing blew up in their gay faces.  The Mueller investigation they’d hyped for nearly Trump’s whole first term was a complete and utter embarrassment.  Mueller fell completely apart in public testimony, revealing that he didn’t even know, in some cases had never heard of,  things that appeared in the report he’d supposedly written.

But that didn’t slow them down one bit.  The corrupt media moved seamlessly toward impeachment with the ungainly Schiff and Nadler leading the charge.  The media, once again, was all in on President Trump’s guilt.  It was all in the Ukrainian phone call!  But, once again Schiff, Nadler and their minions lied every day and night to the media, and the media lied to all of us, insisting that high crimes and misdemeanors had been committed by the President, and the only remedy was removal from office.  But that left them with soot all over their faces like cartoon characters that accidentally blew themselves up.  Still, they never noticed, never apologized, never admitted what fools they’d made of themselves for all to see.  Instead, they purported to still believe their own fake news and figured they were probably right all along, despite their inability to prove any claims they’d been making for years.

The mainstream media has yet to own up to its role in trying to bring down a presidential administration on the basis of, shall we say, nonsense.  Now, they’ve got a brand new toy.  This time they’re claiming that Trump was briefed on a report that Russia was paying Taliban terrorists a bounty for every American soldier they could kill, and the President hid that fact, knowing full well that American soldiers were being killed for money.

It’s just as far-fetched, and divorced from reality as the previous “news” reports. It’s a quandary as to how President Trump has even survived.  He’s had corrupt federal agencies, together with the corrupt media working day and night to accuse him of the most outlandish, nonsensical intentions all the while scolding the population about how racist we all are.  Racism, they say, is a fact of America’s founding.  They’re trying to say the very existence of our flag, our national anthem, our founders, our history and our whole culture is irredeemably racist.

They’ve thrown red paint all over memorials of George Washington.  They’ve toppled statues of every respected or reviled figure in American history.  They’ve burned some of the most expensive retail locations, rampaging like the criminal idiots they are, fists in the air as they cavort in silhouette.

Can you point to ANYONE (save DJT) who dares stand up and defend America?  The so-called conservatives in government have fallen over like bowling pins.  They’re prepared to give in to all manner of demands.  The so-called conservatives are quietly working to root out Columbus Day and replace it with Juneteenth.  The important thing, and parties on all sides of every debate are absolutely sure of one thing:  We must wear masks!

Even one of the most popular “conservative” voices is on every day and night saying, “If we can go back to ball games, we’ll wear them.”  Maybe he will.  Some of us might just as soon not go anywhere the mask police will harass us.  The idea that some believe that we have the constitutionally guaranteed freedom not to make any of several public statements that masks represent just drives the media personalities to distraction.  They claim that their insistence is not even politically motivated.  But you’re just “so wrong” if you think you have the freedom NOT to make all the statements the mask represents.

Wearing the mask says you believe in the sham-demic, and one or two of us don’t.  It says that you want to patronize some business or another so badly that you’ll capitulate to the pressure.  You have to fly after all, don’t you?  You will wear the mask or be removed from the flight, as has happened already.  Wearing the mask also is a sign (to some of us) that you’ve taken a knee.  That you believe in all their nonsense and submit.  We’re being softened up to submit to things we don’t respect or believe in.  How about #TogetherAlone?  That makes no sense, but you’re expected to feel a rush of warmth at the idea of people watching each other eat on computer screens, and pretend like they’ve been to dinner.  If you think pressure to wear a mask is intense, wait till they decide everybody must shave their heads for the public health, or take a Mark in order to participate in economic activity.  That’ll fix us.

What won’t we accept?  Especially when they accuse us of “endangering the public.”  You must SUBMIT to society’s demands.  Even the mob wears masks, but it has nothing to do with the virus.  When we all wear masks, we signal agreement with the mob.  The fact that governors and mayors are doing the bidding of the goon-squad is no sign that the rest of us are ready to relinquish our Constitution, the Bill or Rights, the Declaration of Independence, or history or culture.  You obviously are FREE to make your own decisions, without speaking for anyone else.  Aren’t we all?  Some, apparently few, of us believe that appeasement is not the answer.  Thanks anyway, Governor Abbot.   But the Governor has bought in to the phony “spike” stories that the “news” media tells us are true, and set Texas back even further as to any hope of a swift recovery.  It looks like the media, or the mob has gotten to him.

On the first or second of July, CNN’s Erin Burnett shook her head in exasperation explaining that some people consider the maze of mandates an infringement of personal freedoms and liberties guaranteed in all our founding documents.  “That’s so WRONG!” she explained, out of breath, shaking her head in disbelief, amazed that anyone would dare even make such a claim.  Across the board, including many of the “contributors” on Fox News, they are incredulous that President Trump has not issued a national mask mandate, and spend countless hours expressing disbelief.  Never mind the details.  Never mind Dr. Fauci’s earlier statements about the ineffectiveness of masks and the statement, “There’s no need for Americans to go around wearing masks…”  No, the good doctor has changed his mind, and as you all know, we need to make a U-turn every time the self-impressed little leprechaun thinks he’s cuter than before.

Crime has gone exponential in every big city.  Even the fake news admits it obliquely while insisting that the protesters are peaceful, and we need to take note.  The police now know that any time they’re summoned, thinking someone’s been shot or killed, it could well be an ambush.  It’s happened repeatedly.  Murders, robberies and assaults are occurring at vastly increased rates in most cities.  Meanwhile mayors and city officials are rushing to pass rules and laws that might appease the mob.  The “de-fund the police” movement has gained traction.  New York’s de Blasio and kindred spirits across the United States are falling all over themselves to grant mob wishes by slashing police budgets.  De Blasio’s slash is reportedly one billion dollars.  The Minneapolis City Council has resolved to abolish the police and “RE-IMAGINE” law enforcement.  Everybody’s repeating the magic re-imagine phrase.  But the insurrectionists have a never-ending wish list that includes the redistribution of all private property.  In fact they hate, viscerally, the very concept of private property.

They are felling statues and memorials at a blinding pace.  Now they are after the founders and framers, without whom none of these cities would have existed in the first place.  Without the idea of America, governed by “We, the People” we probably wouldn’t even be here, and might never have been born.  There certainly wouldn’t be the kind of wealth they love to plunder, or cities to loot and burn.  But they’re on a roll, and can’t be bothered with logic just now.  They’re happy to let the homosexuals that dominate prime time do their explaining.  Have you seen these idiots cavorting in the faces of policemen?  Have you looked at those desecrating memorials and pulling down statues?  Are they being paid?  Because from the looks of them, they likely don’t know anything about anything.

There are some voices, even in the medical community who say the “spike” in virus cases is a farce.  Sick people are going to hospitals all right.  For two months they were afraid to go, and now they’re flooding in.  Hospitals are testing everyone, and claiming COVID cases exist in patients who’ve come in for other reasons.  Reporters are giddy, breathless, as the inevitable spike leads every news report.   To supporters of the riots; to the officials who’ve waited a lifetime for the opportunity to clamp down on the general population; to the flabbergasted mainstream reporters who just can’t believe that no national mask mandate has been declared; it’s the best news they could have hoped for.

Time is short.  The mob, backed by the media and business entities paying protection in a myriad of ways, needs to bring down Trump, Attorney General Barr or if necessary the whole system of governance in the United States before the lead players in the failed coup are indicted.  It was announced just last night that a whole bunch in the House of Representatives have signed a petition calling for the impeachment of Barr.  To justify it, they trotted out one of those who claimed to have “proof” of Russian collusion for the past three years.  He’s concerned about damage to the rule of law if Barr should continue in office.  In fact, it’s Obama’s inner circle and his agency brass that are implicated in the earlier attempt at insurrection.  Supposedly the cases are nearing completion, but we’ve heard that before.  Nonetheless, all the big name Deep State players have reportedly lawyered up just in case.  Meanwhile, many federal employees and heads of agencies support the ongoing insurrection against the United States in general, and against the current President in particular.  It’s a battle for the soul of the United States, and everybody seems willing to appease the mob.  They’ll never be appeased, and they’ll never stop making demands, no matter what we do.
