A total of five people — including two teenage gunmen who inscribed anti-Muslim hate messages on their weapons — are dead after a shooting at a San Diego mosque.

Officers responded to the Islamic Center of San Diego for a report of an active shooter around 11:43 a.m. Monday.

Outside the center were three adult men dead from gunshot wounds, according to San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl, who spoke to the media after the shooting.

At least nine pig heads found outside several Paris mosques

At least nine pig heads have been found near several mosques in and around Paris, the city’s police chief said Tuesday, noting that more may be found. France’s interior minister has condemned the acts, calling them “outrageous”.

“Pig heads have been left in front of certain mosques… four in Paris and five in the inner suburbs,” Police Chief Laurent Nunez told a press conference, adding that police were not “ruling out the possibility that others may be found”.

French police have launched an investigation into the incidents.

A major London landmark will undergo a controversial revamp after a Muslim billionaire won his bid to build a place of prayer.

A Muslim billionaire has won permission to turn a major London landmark into a mosque.

Mega-rich Asif Aziz, 56, known as Mr West End, will take over the Trocadero in the centre of the capital, The Sun reports.

He had applied to build a 1000-person capacity mosque but plans were withdrawn because of backlash from residents.

But now Westminster Council has approved a three-storey mosque for 390 worshippers, The Daily Mail reported on Sunday.

It’s thought it will be called “Piccadilly Prayer Space” and could be open within months.

Suicide bomber kills 44, wounds over 150 at Pakistan mosque

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — A suicide bomber struck a crowded mosque inside a police compound in Pakistan on Monday, causing the roof to collapse and killing at least 44 people and wounding more than 150 others, officials said.

Most of the casualties were police officers. It was not clear how the bomber was able to slip into the walled compound, which houses the police headquarters in the northwestern city of Peshawar and is itself located in a high-security zone with other government buildings.

Sarbakaf Mohmand, a commander for the Pakistani Taliban, claimed responsibility for the attack on Twitter. The main spokesman for the militant group was not immediately available for comment.

Pakistan, which is mostly Sunni Muslim, has seen a surge in militant attacks since November, when the Pakistani Taliban ended their cease-fire with government forces. Monday’s assault on a Sunni mosque was one of the deadliest attacks on security forces in recent years.

Northwest Nigeria residents say armed bandits killed 15 in mosque

At least 15 people were killed at a mosque in the Zamfara state of northwest Nigeria on Saturday, locals said.

Three locals told Reuters that the attack in the Bukkuyum local government area happened during Friday prayers at the Jumu’at central mosque in Ruwan Jema town.

Amimu Mustapha, a local resident, said, “The armed bandits came on motorbikes with guns in hand, went straight to the mosque, and started shooting at us at random.”

Another person who didn’t want to be named said that the attack happened around 2 p.m. local time and that many other people were hurt.

A spokesman for the Zamfara state police did not answer calls or text messages right away from people who wanted to confirm what the residents said.

In August, people from Ruwan Jema said they gave bandits $21,000, gasoline, and cigarettes, along with 9 million naira, so the men would leave them alone.
