Hillary already had her turn. Bill should have gone first because she told some whoppers and she’s now putting him on the hot-seat. I wish I didn’t have to write the update right now, because there are bound to be some bombshells.

There’s panic at CNN. They’re losing money hand over fist, and something has to change. All that we see is that Trump is tanking in the polls. But CNN is in trouble. There are insider reports that everybody’s scared to death of being let go. They should have thought of that.

Trump’s State of the Union speech was epic. All the mainstream are panning it, claiming he made misstatements, which is a nice way of saying he lied. We’re going to find out who lied.

Ilhan Omar may have to find a way to enjoy her millions in Somalia. Trump called out Somalia, saying it’s a free for all. They have nothing but dirt and skinny cows.

Everyone’s sitting light on the Epstein matter. Maybe we’ll find out who paid for his murder, maybe not. But now it’s come out that he has storage units all over the U. S., and if that’s true we’re going to find out what, and who. If we can stand it. I’m not sure I want to know the details. In fact I’m sure I don’t. But these guys who thought they’d be untouchable aren’t. There’s news that Trump might be implicated, but you have to consider the source.

I’ve been informed that Pakistan and Afghanistan have declared war. There’s not a dime’s worth of difference in the way they believe, so… Pardon me, but I’ve been to Israel and to say that the Arabs are unreasonable would be an understatement. I don’t know who to root for.

The war in Ukraine is ongoing. The statistics on the killing are chilling, and I don’t know where to go after that. Hope they figure something out. If there’s a war, I’d rather it be in the Middle East. Maybe you’ve understood that I don’t like or trust Zelensky. He was a comedian, still is. In combat garb. The idea of him standing up to Trump is one I can’t abide. Somebody better get good sense, and quick.

Somalia launched voter registration in April for the first time in decades, as the country has been struggling to emerge from decades of conflict and chaos, battling a bloody Islamist insurgency and frequent natural disasters.

The dawn attack on Adan Yabal in Middle Shabelle region started with the launching of explosives before the militants attacked on foot on multiple fronts.

Al-Shabab in a statement claimed it captured the town. A Somali military officer who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media said government troops controlled some areas and fighting continued.

The Somali government and allied forces began a campaign a year ago to that has pushed al Shabaab, an al Qaeda-linked group, out of parts of the center of the country, although the group continues to carry out major attacks.

The U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) said it had conducted an air strike on Saturday against al Shabaab near Seiera, about 45 km (28 miles) northwest of Kismayo, at the government’s request.

“The collective self-defense airstrike was conducted in the early morning hours of Aug. 26, in support of Somali National Army forces who were engaged by” al Shabaab, AFRICOM said in a statement.

Flash floods caused by heavy rains have affected about 37,000 people in Somalia, causing a humanitarian crisis in the regions affected, Somalia’s Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs said on Tuesday.

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management said about 15,400 people have been displaced as heavy rains pound the regions on the south-eastern coast of the country causing flash floods as well as riverine flooding.

“Floods have disrupted business activities, communication networks and roads within the city and have impacted community livelihoods,” said the ministry in a statement issued in Mogadishu.

Somalia is already struggling with COVID-19 and an invasion of desert locusts in the northern parts of the country.

Hamza Said Hamza, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management called on aid agencies to swiftly respond to the humanitarian needs caused by the flash and riverine flooding in Lower and Middle Shabelle.

Hamza said the affected local population who fled their homes to the dry and high ground are now in dire need of humanitarian assistance.

“The needs of the affected communities are massive in regards to shelter, clean water, food, and health. Therefore, we are calling upon our partners and all humanitarian agencies to quickly respond to this emergency situation and help the displaced people in those regions,” said Hamza.

He expressed concerns about the humanitarian crisis caused by the flash floods due to the performance of the above-normal Hagaa rains.

In Mogadishu alone, the ministry said, flash floods damaged or destroyed a number of housing units while displacing some 1,200 people.

Somalia has declared a national emergency as large swarms of locusts spread across east Africa.

The country’s Ministry of Agriculture said the insects, which consume large amounts of vegetation, posed “a major threat to Somalia’s fragile food security situation”.

There are fears that the situation may not be brought under control before the harvest begins in April.

The UN says the swarms are the largest in Somalia and Ethiopia in 25 years.

Meanwhile, neighbouring Kenya has not seen a locust threat as severe in 70 years, according to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

However, Somalia is the first country in the region to declare an emergency over the infestation.

• Drones tested to combat desert locusts

Somalia’s unstable security situation means that planes cannot be used to spray insecticide from the air.

In January, the FAO called for international help in fighting the swarms in the Horn of Africa, warning that locust numbers across the region could grow 500 times by June.

The swarms spread into east Africa from Yemen across the Red Sea, after heavy rainfall in late 2019 created ideal conditions for the insects to flourish.

Locusts can travel up to 150km (93 miles) in a day. Each adult insect can eat its own weight in food daily.

In December, a locust swarm forced a passenger plane off course in Ethiopia. Insects smashed into the engines, windshield, and nose, but the aircraft was able to land safely in the capital, Addis Ababa.
