Greetings from Tyler,

Now we’re hearing that Biden couldn’t have stayed out of a wheelchair much longer. Can you imagine what would have happened if they’d have rolled him out in a wheelchair? Thankfully none of that happened. Now the bad guys are scared to death. They wait in vain for Trump to commit some kind of gaffe so they can start playing offense. But he’s got the brightest minds advising him and he’s probably not going to make that kind of error.

Comey has himself back in the news. He’s the only one who didn’t know what those spelled out shells meant. He was completely clueless, and he’s got the look on his face to prove it. You and I knew immediately that it was a call to assassinate the President. But the former head of the F.B.I., he had no idea. Not only that, he was the one to publicize it. And he was the head of the agency.

If you didn’t see Jake Tapper on the Megan Kelly show you must. He apparently is admitting that he got it wrong, scolding people for even suggesting Joe Biden was unfit. He’s coming clean, and some are suggesting that he’s doing it simply because he stands to make money on his book. Then again, maybe it was the only option to saving his career. We’ll have to see if he succeeded. Megan Kelly played him scolding one of the Trump daughters in law for “poking fun at his stutter.” She explained that she didn’t even know he had a stutter, for all the good it did. He’s saying he’s apologized for all that, and his BOOK!

Trump wants to shut down the bringing in of terrorists by the big universities. But they’re not having it. One of these issues of defiance is going to end up at the Supreme Court, and they’ve already ruled on some issues, and not exclusively for the President.

I watched the entire Trump visit and speech in Saudi Arabia, but the question I want answered was never asked. Why don’t you use some of your billions, which came from us buying your oil, to build the so-called Palestinians a beachfront resort? Instead, Qatar gave us an expensive 747. Somebody suggested Trump was accepting it personally and immediately regretted the question.

I may never fly again. At least not until all these crashes are figured out. Flying commercial may be a hazard to your health. Every time you turn around there’s another air disaster or close call. Maybe Trump can get it straightened out, but until he’s turned his attention to it…

And they’re targeting the TSA, saying it might go private. The TSA was introduced after 9-11 and I flipped when I saw it on TV. But having put up with their “rules” for several years, I don’t want to do it again. Please, replace the TSA! We ought to be checking their identities.

The trip, the parts we were shown, was a big success, and I’m sure they’re bowing and scraping all over the world. For decades now, nobody cared what the U.S. thought or was doing, and the world ran amok. Now everybody’s tripping over each other trying to get on Donald Trump’s good side. He’s in the zone, and while I wish I wasn’t a fan, I love the United States.

Mark

Spirit Airlines says it is working “around the clock” to accommodate passengers impacted by delays and cancellations at several of its hubs due to “weather and operational challenges“ over the weekend.

A company spokesperson told FOX TV Stations that many of the issues the airline is facing stem from its attempts to keep up with air travel demand, which has significantly spiked over the summer holiday season.

“It’s a mixture of challenges that the entire industry is facing during this busy travel season as all airlines begin to scale their operation again,” according to an emailed statement from Spirit.

According to FlightAware, as of Monday, the airline had canceled a total of 434 flights and delayed a total of 467 flights since Sunday.

“The majority of flights are still scheduled as planned,” a Spirit spokesperson said.

“We understand how frustrating it is for our Guests when plans change unexpectedly, and we’re working to find solutions. We ask Guests to actively monitor their emails and flight status before heading to the airport. As a team, we strive every day to get our Guests where they need to go on time. Our focus will continue to be on taking care of our Guests,” the airline said.

From Philadelphia to Orlando, hundreds of customers were dealing with hours-long delays, with some even waiting 12 hours to speak to a Spirit Airlines representative to reschedule flights.

Cancellations were being reported at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Philadelphia International Airport and Atlantic City Airport.

Passengers at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport reportedly claimed the cancellations were due to a pilot strike, but Spirit told FOX TV Stations that those reports were inaccurate.

Air travel in the United States is hitting new pandemic-era highs as airlines are scrambling to keep up with summer vacation crowds.

Despite rising numbers of COVID-19 infections fueled by the delta variant, the U.S. set another recent high mark for air travel Sunday, with more than 2.2 million people going through airport checkpoints, according to the Transportation Security Administration.

That is nearly 11,000 more people screened than July 18, and the highest number since Feb. 28, 2020, before the U.S. felt the full brunt of the pandemic.

However, air travel was still down 17% Sunday from the same Sunday in 2019.

About 7,400 flights arrived at least 15 minutes behind schedule on Sunday — the government’s definition of late — and more than 900 were canceled, according to tracking service FlightAware.

Nearly half the cancellations were at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, which was hit with afternoon and evening thunderstorms. The airport is American Airlines’ largest hub.

There have been at least 5,000 delayed flights on most days since early July, according to FlightAware figures. American, Southwest and Spirit are among airlines with the biggest snags.

At least 40% of Southwest and Spirit flights were delayed and 19% of Spirit flights were canceled Sunday. On Monday, Spirit canceled 32% of its flights by midday.

The travel recovery faces a renewed public-health threat, as the number of new cases of COVID-19 continues to rise. The seven-day rolling average of new U.S. infections is around 80,000 a day, up nearly 150% from two weeks ago, although the increase in deaths is far smaller.

Airline officials say they haven’t seen bookings suffer because of the delta variant, although some have said it could delay the return of business travel, which airlines were hoping would gain speed this fall.
