Greetings from Tyler,

Trump is outmaneuvering everybody. It looks like all those people pushing the Russia hoax are going to have to pay. This week we’ve learned that Obama was calling the shots. He may be immune from prosecution, but the others? I have a feeling they’re lawyering up. You know, those guys we hoped we’d never see again. Apparently they’ve got some liabilities. We don’t look forward to their arguments.

The media says Trump is losing his base, but you’d never know it by watching him. He doesn’t seem to worry much. They pepper him with questions about Epstein, and he never blinks. It seems that some notables went to the island dozens of times. The Media writ large had Dan Bongino resigning and maybe Kash Patel would go with him. They wish! Turns out it was speculation by the mainstream.

They say we’ve got a situation never before contemplated. We’re sending more illegals out than are coming in, and the fear of deportation always hangs over their heads. That’s as it should be. Who ever heard of a country that lets in all comers? You cannot go anywhere In the world without the proper papers. And falling into the hands of some third world system couldn’t possibly turn out good.

You still see an article feeling sorry for the immigrants. But we can’t afford their upkeep. What? Is it our responsibility to make sure everything’s fair and everybody’s happy? There are places that a border-jumper would be anything but happy. There are some absolutely beautiful places on earth, but you wouldn’t want to live there.

It looks like Putin is satisfied with the way things are going, and, for now has no intention of calling the whole thing off. It looks like that is driving Trump back into the arms of Zelensky. It’s very complicated now. Trump keeps saying that the war never would have started if he’d been president. But now, it’s a whole different matter.

If you read the mainstream, you’d never know about things that are about to go ballistic. But these other characters! We’re going to be caught in the details of everything they’ve been pushing. I don’t ever want to see some of them again. But we’re going to have to suffer through their machinations. It looks like they’re all going to surface again whether we like it or not. But they made their bed.

A lot of famous names are in trouble. They don’t have Obama’s immunity. So we’re going to have to see them again. One of them better cut an immunity deal, or all of them are going down, save Obama.

Finally the deportations are taking hold. The left is freaking out. After all, these people are only trying to take care of their families! So see how far that line of logic goes anywhere else on earth.

Acting Defense Secretary Robert Salesses was expected to sign the deployment orders on Wednesday, but it wasn’t yet clear which troops or units will go, and the total could fluctuate. It remains to be seen if they will end up doing law enforcement, which would put American troops in a dramatically different role for the first time in decades.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because the announcement has not yet been made.

Greetings from Tyler,

The atmosphere we find ourselves in is more than unsettling. It’s a whirlwind of unacceptable realities that we can scarcely believe. We’ve all seen the blocking of freeways and bridges, whether we wanted to or not. Now there can be no official statements from anyone denouncing what happened on October 7. The videos of what these idiots did can’t be watched. It would be illegal to put them on the air. So we’ve got these massive demonstrations all over the place, and I’ve got one question. Where did these people come from, and when did they come here?

Nobody can put out statements about the mayhem and misery caused by these supposedly down-trodden people. I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating. The so-called Palestinians are schooled in hatred for Jews from their birth. They get it at school, at the mosque and at home. We hear all the cries for the innocent civilians, but Gaza reveled in the massacre.

Here we are, border wide open, people coming in from all over the world. It’s a free for all. Worst of all, there’s no end in sight. We’ve got the high-stepper striding down airplane stairways and across grass to helicopters. He keeps getting this blank, far off stare. Do you think we’re the only ones that see it?

The world has blown up, and there might be more to come. The priority, it seems, is to do away with anything the hated Donald Trump put in place, without regard to the consequences. Look where it’s gotten us. Inflation all over the place, gas prices we don’t like, wars in Eastern Europe and in the Middle East. Iran is emboldened, after being broke. Now they’re financing and supplying murderous outfits all over the Middle East. Nobody dares speak their name. Merchant ships are being shot at, sometimes hit. Now they’re rounding up “spies” and executing them in Iran.

You heard about the Hamas commander that got smoked in Lebanon. No doubt there will be reprisals. His name was Saleh al Arouri, the deputy leader of Hamas. Israel is taking out the leadership, and everybody’s more worked up than ever.

Commercial vessels are being attacked by the Houthis in the Red Sea. It’s out of control already. Disputes between hostiles are always welcome. Apparently China doesn’t want to pay what Iran is asking for its oil. Isn’t that a shame?

If you’ve not seen the pictures of flooding across the UK, it’s startling. The worst part is that it’s not through raining. You can hardly believe the photos. Flooded cars, people traversing streets in boats. I don’t know how widespread the damage is, but the photos don’t look good.

How’s the war in Ukraine going? There’s not much news about the war in Ukraine lately, and there’s a reason for that. According to recent reports, the Ukrainians are falling back all along the front as Russians move forward destroying enterprises the Ukrainians need to stay in the fray. The much ballyhooed counter-offensive failed, whether they admit it or not. The Russians are gaining ground and now it’s good money after bad.

So they’re still chasing us around about Covid. A U. S. ally is getting routed in Ukraine, the Middle East is ablaze, and they’re arguing about who’s being “oppressed” as usual. They haven’t given up talking to us like we’re a bunch of five year olds.

It gets tiresome. We’re being force fed a bunch of nonsense by our government. The Jeffrey Epstein story is front and center, and the way they’re reporting it, you’d think Trump was a primary offender. Who knows what Epstein’s job was. Was it blackmail? Things can’t be going too well for the Clintons these days. We may well find out more than we want to know. Apparently lots of people were lured to the island on the basis of who’d already gone. We don’t know what to believe about the allegations. Some are too hideous to contemplate.

We’re in for a rough ride, obviously. May the U. S. recover its sanity before they get us cursed.

Greetings from Tyler,

I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is that a law has passed the Texas legislature that will allow the arrest of illegal aliens. The bad news is, it doesn’t take effect until March. We see the glut at the border, it looks like the line to ride the Matterhorn at Disneyland. But these people don’t speak English, and have paid dearly for passage from the smugglers. Once they get to the United States they’ll fulfill their dreams, or will they? The entire border patrol has been enlisted to “process” people, whatever that means. We don’t even know what these “immigrants” are given or what they’re being told. But they’re put on buses to go wherever they want.

The news from the southern border is enough to keep you from watching. By the time the Texas law kicks in, at the rate of 12 thousand per day, you figure it out. We’ll be swamped. Obama never did have our best interests at heart, and Biden does what he’s told. Not that he doesn’t voice his opinion from time to time, but it just doesn’t matter. We hear what he has said, but don’t dare watch him say it. It’s just too depressing.

They’re trying to link Ukrainian aid with the Southern border. So the broken border can’t be fixed unless we fund Ukraine in its fight against the Russians. But there’s a problem. Ukraine is losing, and there’s no way they can win. At this point it will be good money after bad. Another thing is that we don’t even know what’s happened to the money already sent. Someday we’re going to find out where the large sums have gone.

You’ve probably seen something about the Colorado court case. They’ve convicted Trump of insurrection and pronounced him guilty. Not that he’s been found guilty, or even charged. But these buffoons in Colorado must be scared to death. Trump just can’t get elected again, or Katy bar the door. So they’ve decided his name can’t appear on the ballot.

Everybody’s demanding a cease fire. The UN is making pronouncements, but Israel no longer cares. The worst atrocities since WWII cannot be allowed to happen again. Period. All the crying, begging doesn’t make much difference after they’ve slaughtered over a thousand people and committed all manner of atrocities. We don’t even want to know what they’ve done. Don’t tell us.

The sector, according to the source, is detaining more than 4,000 migrants in holding facilities designed to detain 2,669.

Breitbart Texas captured video of more than 600 migrants staged outdoors near Lukeville, Arizona, hoping to be transported to one of the overcrowded facilities for formal processing and release into the United States.

The video shows the migrants huddled against the border wall in the Organ Pipe National Monument reserve in near-freezing temperatures. The area was but one of two in the sector where migrants were staged in the hundreds as they awaited detention space and transportation resources to become available so they could leave the frigid outdoor environment. Smoke from small fires set by the migrants can be seen smoldering on the desert floor.

From the Mexican side of the Rio Grande, Breitbart Texas observed migrants gathering by the hundreds in preparation to cross the border. The groups consist mostly of Venezuelan migrants.

The migrants began crossing around 9 a.m. in small to medium-sized groups. Migrants told Breitbart they estimate as many as 3,000 migrants arrived in Piedras Negras by train after making the journey through Mexico.

A San Antonio fire department official said they found “stacks of bodies” and no signs of water in the truck, which was found next to railroad tracks in a remote area on the southern outskirts of the city.

San Antonio: The bodies of 46 dead migrants were discovered inside a tractor-trailer on Monday in San Antonio, Texas, city officials said, in one of the most deadly recent incidents of human smuggling along the US-Mexico border.

A San Antonio fire department official said they found “stacks of bodies” and no signs of water in the truck, which was found next to railroad tracks in a remote area on the city’s southern outskirts.

Sixteen other people found inside the trailer were transported to hospitals for heat stroke and exhaustion, including four minors, but no children were among the dead, the department said.

“The patients that we saw were hot to the touch, they were suffering from heat stroke, exhaustion,” San Antonio fire chief Charles Hood told a news conference. “It was a refrigerated tractor-trailer but there was no visible working A/C unit on that rig.”

Temperatures in San Antonio, which is about 160 miles (250 km) from the Mexican border, swelled to a high of 103 degrees Fahrenheit (39.4 degrees Celsius) on Monday with high humidity.

The city’s police chief William McManus said a person who worked in a nearby building heard a cry for help and came out to investigate. The worker found the trailer doors partially opened and looked inside and found a number of dead bodies.

McManus said this was the largest incident of its kind in the city and said three people were in custody following the incident, though their involvement is not yet clear.

A spokesperson for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said that its Homeland Security Investigations division was investigating “an alleged human smuggling event” in coordination with local police.

The deaths once again highlight the challenge of controlling migrant crossings at the US-Mexico border, which have reached record highs.

The issue has proven difficult for US President Joe Biden, a Democrat who came into office in January 2021 pledging to reverse some of the hardline immigration policies of his Republican predecessor Donald Trump. Republicans have criticized Biden’s border strategy ahead of the midterm Congressional elections in November.

Mexico’s foreign minister Marcelo Ebrard called the suffocation of the migrants in the truck the “tragedy in Texas” on Twitter and said consular officials would go to the hospitals where victims had been taken to help “however possible.”

A spokesman for the Honduran foreign ministry told Reuters the country’s consulates in Houston and Dallas would be investigating the incident. Ebrard said two Guatemalans were hospitalized and Guatemala’s foreign ministry said on Twitter that consular officials were going to the hospital “to verify if there are two Guatemalan minors there and what condition they are in.”

The I-35 highway near where the truck was found runs through San Antonio from the Mexican border and is a popular smuggling corridor because of the large volume of truck traffic, according to Jack Staton, a former senior official with ICE’s investigative unit who retired in December.

In July 2017, 10 migrants died after being transported in a tractor-trailer that was discovered by San Antonio police in a Wal-Mart parking lot. The driver, James Matthew Bradley, Jr., was sentenced the following year to life in prison for his role in the smuggling operation.

Staton said migrants have regularly been intercepted in the area since the 2017 incident. “It was only a matter of time before a tragedy like this was going to happen again,” he said.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Biden administration released a plan Tuesday to deal with an expected increase in already high numbers of migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border from the planned lifting of a public health order that prevents people from seeking asylum — and that Republican and some Democratic lawmakers insist should be kept in place.

A memo from Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro N. Mayorkas outlines a more robust effort to enforce U.S. immigration law without the use of Title 42, which was invoked at the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

“When the Title 42 public health Order is lifted, we anticipate migration levels will increase, as smugglers will seek to take advantage of and profit from vulnerable migrants,” Mayorkas warns in a memo that comes a day before he is to testify to Congress on an issue that has become a potent element in Republican political messaging.

The plan includes increasing the number of personnel in the border region from Customs and Border Protection and other federal agencies, expanding detention capacity with the use of temporary facilities and aggressively deploying a process known as expedited removal to deport migrants who do not qualify for asylum or some other relief under U.S. law.

It also relies on new Department of Homeland Security initiatives intended to streamline the evaluation of migrant claims, such as the deployment of asylum officers to the border to help determine whether someone should be granted temporary legal residency until an immigration court rules on their case.

Unmentioned is the fact that a court could soon order the government to reverse course and halt plans to lift Title 42 on May 23 because of lawsuits filed by Republican-led states.

On Monday, a federal judge in Louisiana said he would issue an order limiting the administration’s ability to prepare but left specifics of the settlement to the federal government and the states.

U.S. District Judge Robert Summerhays, a Trump appointee, has scheduled a hearing on May 13 in the lawsuit by Louisiana and 20 other states seeking to keep Title 42 authority in place. Republicans and some Democrats in Congress have also urged the Biden administration to continue the order for now.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said Tuesday that Republicans “are going to insist” on a vote on keeping the public health order in place, likely as an amendment to a compromise $10 billion package of pandemic aid. That demand has put Democrats on the defensive ahead of fall elections in which congressional control is in play and some moderates face competitive races.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., conceded that the GOP effort is forcing Democrats to try finding a position they can rally behind. “There’s divisions there now,” he said. And Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., took the unusual step of criticizing the administration for sending conflicting signals on the issue.

“We’re puzzled by the administration, some mixed messages around. Is the emergency over or isn’t it over?” Kaine told reporters. “We’re confused about it. And that leads different people to be in different spots until we get questions answered.”

Migrants have been expelled more than 1.8 million times under the rule, which was issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention under former President Donald Trump.

Advocates for asylum-seekers support the end to the rule, which they say endangers people fleeing persecution back home and violates rights to seek protection under U.S. law and international treaty. The states challenging the administration say the U.S. is not ready for a likely influx of migrants resulting from the rule’s end, straining public services.

It comes amid what the administration concedes are historic numbers of migrants attempting to cross the border due to factors that include economic and political turmoil in Latin America, as well as a backlog of people hoping to seek asylum.

The increase in migrant encounters is also due in part to Title 42 itself.

Immigration authorities stopped migrants 221,303 times along the Southwest border in March, a 33% increase from a month earlier, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection data.

But many of those encounters were people coming back after being removed under the public health authority. CBP said the number of unique individuals encountered nationwide in March came to 159,900, still high but significantly below the total.

Biden administration officials argue that the use of expedited removal is more of a deterrent because people subjected to it are inadmissible for five years and can be charged with a felony if they attempt to return to the country. Under Title 42, there are no legal consequences and many people simply turn around and come back.

It can be argued that for Democrats a border wall did not seem necessary in 2016 or in January 2021, but November 2021 is a different matter.

In late September, the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), a Washington-based think tank, organized a week-long tour on the U.S. border with Mexico. I was the only European there, and the migration crises of the Old Continent gave me a unique perspective on the ongoing “significant challenge” (the Biden administration’s parlance for “crisis”) at the Mexican border.

CIS took us to a “calmer” section of the border; we visited the westernmost edge of Texas, the city of El Paso, and some of the borderlands in New Mexico. The word “calmer” is a misnomer; with more than 17,000 migrants apprehended in September the El Paso sector of the border can only be called calm, because in the Rio Grande Valley sector U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) arrested 55,000 illegal immigrants during the same period.

In the smallish town of Mesilla, we met Rep. Yvette Herrell (R-NM-2), whose congressional district takes up 180 miles on the southern border. The most striking thing for me was Herrell’s assessment that the Biden administration discontinued key Trump-era immigration and asylum policies simply because they were introduced by the Republican president.

No, this is not going to be a slippery “should have” argument about the “beautiful” wall, because Trump’s signature project is as symbolic to the Democrats as it was for the previous administration. My point of contention is the immediate termination of the Migration Protection Protocols (MPP, also known as “Remain in Mexico”) on Inauguration Day. The reason behind the decision to discontinue MPP (which obviously lacked any kind of impact assessment) was that the policy is considered to be inherently cruel and inhumane among Democrats. Well, the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate European Union has been laboring to hammer out a similar policy since 2017.

France’s then-freshly-inaugurated French president, Emmanuel Macron, proposed in July 2017 that camps should be set up in Libya where asylum seekers’ claims could be examined without their entering the continent. The same year, prominent EU leaders endorsed a plan that would entail setting up camps in the Sahel in Africa, where actual refugees could be separated from economic migrants. These camps would be run by the United Nations, but the bulk of the funding would come from the EU. The German delegation endorsed the plan with the condition that the camps need to offer adequate protection and provisions for their inhabitants. So, setting up camps that adhere to the unquestionably high human-rights standards of the EU is possible in Chad and Niger but camps in Mexico are inherently cruel and inhumane?

It’s not just the EU, however, that has been eyeing a solution wherein asylum seekers have to wait abroad while their claims are processed. In the United Kingdom, the proposed Nationality and Borders Bill would introduce a similar scheme. The proposed British bill takes after the Australian system that involves ferrying asylum seekers to other nation-states while their claim is being processed. Inside the EU, the socialist Danish government recently proposed a comparable procedure. In my experience, these are not the countries that usually make the news with human rights violations.

After taking a look at Europe and beyond, the claim that MPP is inherently cruel and inhumane does not seem necessarily true. This, of course, does not automatically mean that MPP was flawlessly implemented during the Trump presidency. But the incoming Biden administration most certainly could have evaluated it and could have tried to fix it before completely scrapping it. It is definitely going to be interesting to see what the court-ordered reimplementation of the program will look like from mid-November onwards. I think that the Biden administration should consult more with European experts who have encountered similar policies—they will be less likely to “walk out” on an online meeting.

During the border tour, we visited an unfinished section of the wall in New Mexico. According to our guide, a local rancher, before the construction of Trump’s wall, there used to be vehicle barriers and barbed-wire fences installed on the border. Once work started on the Republican president’s signature project all previous installments were cleared away. With construction halted by the incoming Biden administration, long sections of the border remain now where the old barriers have been cleared away, but the new wall hasn’t been constructed.

Europe learned the hard way the importance of physical barriers on borders. With the vivid memory of the iron curtain and the Berlin Wall looming over the continent, any kind of migration policy that involved concertina wire was considered to be strictly verboten by most politicians. There were of course early exceptions: in 1993 a fence was constructed around the town of Ceuta—a Spanish exclave in Morocco—to stop waves of illegal African migrants. The real change in public opinion came in the aftermath of the 2015 Syrian refugee/migration crisis. When hundreds of thousands of people reached the southern border of Hungary (and the EU) during the summer of 2015, the conservative Hungarian government decided to build a fence on the Serbian border. Initially the decision was severely criticized by left-wing parties in Hungary as well as in the European Parliament. But when the severity and the magnitude of the crises finally set in, criticism faded.

In 2021, Belarus started using migrants as weapons in hybrid warfare to blackmail the EU, by flying them in from the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa and then directing them towards the Lithuanian border. When the small Baltic country decided to erect a border fence to stop the waves of migrants, there was no controversy in Europe whatsoever. Furthermore, the EU rallied behind its besieged member right away: Frontex (the European Border and Coast Guard Agency) deployed 100 officers, thirty patrol cars, and two helicopters, while the European Commission allocated roughly $35 million for migration management with possibly more funds to follow.

The bottom line is: it took an unparalleled number of people to flock to the borders of the EU to change general public opinion about physical barriers on borders. If numbers are any indication: CBP apprehensions on the Southern border in FY2021 were the highest since the authorities started keeping records in 1960. It can be argued that for Democrats a border wall did not seem necessary in 2016 or in January 2021, but November 2021 is a different matter. I think that one would have a hard time finding a sitting government in Europe that wouldn’t come up with a concertina wire solution for a “significant challenge” like this one.
