Pope Francis is comparing politicians who rage against homosexuality to Hitler.
Speaking at an international conference on criminal law the pontiff also said that being hateful of gypsies and Jews reminded him of the Nazis.
While the pontiff did not specifically name any politicians or countries as the targets of his criticism, he did say that certain speeches from modern-day politicians reminded him of Hitler’s own in 1934 and 1936.
In recent weeks, Pope Francis has also denounced a resurgence of anti-Semitism in Europe.
On Wednesday he warned the habit of persecuting Jews is beginning to be reborn.
Telling his audience this is neither human nor Christian.
