Trump demands Fox News ‘bring back’ Jeanine Pirro, ‘keep fighting’ for Tucker Carlson

President Donald Trump called on Fox News to “fight back with vigor” and bring back Judge Jeanine Pirro’s show, which was pulled this weekend, one week after she made anti-Muslim remarks.

Trump’s Sunday morning Twitter tirade blamed “Radical Left Democrats” for working alongside the “Fake News Media” to bring down Fox News hosts, at least two of whom are currently embroiled in controversies over sexist and bigoted remarks.

The president called on the cable news network to “keep fighting” for Tucker Carlson despite several advertisers fleeing over his comments about women. And Trump applauded Fox’s resistance to being “politically correct” and even inserted a convoluted version of a classic Star Trek line, telling Fox News executives to “be strong & prosper.”

“Bring back @JudgeJeanine Pirro. The Radical Left Democrats, working closely with their beloved partner, the Fake News Media, is using every trick in the book to SILENCE a majority of our Country. They have all out campaigns against @FoxNews hosts who are doing too well,” Trump tweeted Sunday in a series of back-to-back Twitter posts lauding the cable news network and its ratings.

“Fox must stay strong and fight back with vigor. Stop working soooo hard on being politically correct, which will only bring you down, and continue to fight for our Country. The losers all want what you have, don’t give it to them. Be strong & prosper, be weak & die! Stay true to the people that got you there. Keep fighting for Tucker, and fight hard for @JudgeJeanine. Your competitors are jealous – they all want what you’ve got – NUMBER ONE. Don’t hand it to them on a silver platter. They can’t beat you, you can only beat yourselves!”

Trump added in a video from Fox & Friends Sunday morning in which Bristol County, Massachusetts sheriff Thomas M. Hodgson commended the president for his veto of the Democrat and Republican backed emergency vote which forced Trump to veto.

Pirro, who has not been active on social media for about one week, has not yet responded to Trump’s calls to bring her back on the air, although it is unclear if her show has been cancelled indefinitely. Her Saturday evening program slot was replaced this week after she accused Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar of supporting Sharia Law and violating the U.S. Constitution. A Fox News spokesperson issued a statement saying “We’re not commenting on internal scheduling matters.”

Pirro is a former district attorney from Westchester County, New York and authored the 2018 book, Liars, Leakers, and Liberals: The Case Against the Anti-Trump Conspiracy.

Representatives for Fox News did not immediately respond to Newsweek’s requests for reaction to the president’s inspiring advice for the cable news network Sunday morning. The network previously stated that it would not comment on scheduling matters.

Trump’s demand for the network to support Carlson and “bring back” Pirro’s show is only the latest example of the White House’s intimate relationship with the cable news network and its executives. A New Yorker report earlier this month detailed the cozy relationship Trump’s administration has in dealing with Fox News’ programming and hosts.

Earlier Sunday, Trump went after another network, NBC, calling for a potential investigation by the Federal Election Commission or the Federal Communications Commission into their incessant mocking of the president.
