President Donald Trump said the U.S. seized an Iranian cargo ship that tried to bypass its blockade, a move that escalates tensions and threatens to reignite the war with Iran.
The seizure, which Trump announced on Sunday, came after Iran has refused to participate in a second round of peace talks, even as Trump reiterated his threat to attack Iran’s civil infrastructure. U.S. negotiators are traveling to Pakistan this week to resume negotiations aimed at ending the conflict, Trump said.
