Weekly Update by Mark Armstrong – 24 December 2021

Greetings from Tyler,

We’re not about to propose that the “vaccine passport” is the Mark of the Beast.  But is it establishing the infrastructure?  Some places, like New York City, are “requiring” businesses to get proof of customer’s vaccination status before letting them in an establishment.  That’ll be great for the economy.  It will no doubt create warm sensations between business establishments and those who wish to patronize them.

Here’s credit to Jason Whitlock who uses the phrase Branch Covidians to describe the hair-on-fire preachers of COVID-19 doctrine.  It’s turning into another religious belief, much like global warming, evolution and other godless theories.  Why is the National Hockey League  shutdown on account of a supposed outbreak among “fully vaccinated” players, coaches, staff, everybody?  But your symptoms will be less severe, and probably not involve hospitalization, otherwise you can still contract the ailment and pass it along to others.  But it’s absolutely essential that you go immediately to get your shots and the paperwork to prove you did.

The little doctor, seer of all things COVID-19, never passes up a chance to be on TV giving his knowledgeable advice to the people he thinks are littler than he is.  You really shouldn’t be around family members who haven’t been vaccinated.  And by the way, Happy Holidays.  Having divided people into emotional camps over race, gender, global warming, now they’ve got a new reason for people to hate each other.  You either “believe,” or you don’t.

The media has been claiming 60% some odd compliance for months now.  The supposed leadership is really angry that some are saying bad things, like side effects, about the vaccine.  We seriously hope there are no ill side effects, many we know and love have taken the shots.  But how come, after all this time are the numbers about the same?  Maybe they’re polling data is unreliable.  We’ve noticed the historical record is not very reassuring.  You don’t suppose that everybody who wanted the shot already went and got it?  Good luck with the recalcitrant.  The numbers don’t seem to be making any great strides.  Maybe the pretender in chief just needs to show a little anger!

You might have noticed, the media and government powers have been very reluctant to say that the Omicron variant is mild.  They continue to sound extremely concerned about how easily it’s transmitted, along with warnings of a dark and deadly Winter for those who failed to hop to.  There’s some imperative that the public is kept in a panic, endlessly.  It seems that some places in Europe have gone completely overboard with demands and punishments.  Career ending punishments.

It’s amazing that many are prepared to walk away from important jobs because they weren’t comfortable with the shots, or those barking orders and making demands.  Welcome to freedom.  Unfortunately, many of those demanding compliance have completely destroyed their credibility over recent years, and have failed to notice.  Would it be going too far to say we don’t trust them, anymore, at all?  If the vaccine and the booster are so good, why all the panic?  Are we going to rush off somewhere every time the little doctor says to?  Will family members shun their beloved on account of the division that’s been fostered by these …?  One thing for sure…you’ll die less seriously if you’re vaccinated.  (stole it)

Now we pause for the holidays.  Traffic should be light tomorrow, when we drive to our regular Sabbath church service.  My neighborhood is glittering with lights and inflatable Santa’s, and icicles are hanging from some eves.  Not real ones, mind you.  It’s eighty degrees today and promises to be warmer tomorrow.  Maybe it’s global warming!  Or maybe it’s Texas.  God has blessed this place abundantly despite our shortcomings.  Maybe everybody should stop testing Him.

Mark
