Colombian president poised to launch another attack on Venezuela

Bogota, Dec 3 (Prensa Latina) Several experts are currently warning that President Ivan Duque, one of the promoters of the application of the Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance (TIAR) against Venezuela, intends to resolve the internal crisis in Colombia through new aggressions against that neighboring country.
Such claims come as Bogota hosts this Tuesday a meeting of Consultation of Ministers of Foreign Affairs to serve as the Consultation Body for the Application of TIAR, a mechanism that contemplates the use of military force.

Attention has been drawn to the fact that this meeting is taking place in the midst of anti-government protests that have been taking place in Colombia since November 21, through which thousands of people are demanding profound reforms in areas such as education, health, the environment, and security.

Everything would seem to indicate that Duque, instead of finding concrete solutions to the crisis by negotiating with the National Strike Committee, is instead considering embarking on a warmongering move of vast proportions against the neighboring Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, warned journalist Nelson Lombana.

The signs are that the Colombian government would work feverishly in the organization of a large military-paramilitary army to undertake sabotage operations against Colombia and blame Venezuelan military forces for them, and thus ‘justify’ an invasion, he wrote in an article published on the website of the Colombian Communist Party.

On September 25, Duque repeated at the UN his attacks against Venezuela and President Nicolas Maduro, democratically elected for a second term in May 2018.
