Taiwanese authorities say 14 people had been confirmed dead as of Wednesday and 46 others were missing due to Typhoon Ragasa.
The powerful storm dumped torrential rain on Taiwan’s eastern region. The downpour caused a barrier lake in the eastern county of Hualien to overflow. Fire authorities revised the death toll down from 17 to 14, citing duplicated information.
