Wenstrup: No evidence Trump colluded with Russia. But plenty of evidence Democrats did

There’s no evidence of collusion between President Trump’s campaign and Russia, U.S. Rep. Brad Wenstrup, R-Columbia Tusculum, told hundreds of Republicans Saturday morning gathered in Sharonville.

The Republicans applauded while dining on pancakes and eggs at the Northeast Hamilton County Republican Club’s annual pancake breakfast.

“I serve on the intelligence committee and I have a newsflash for you,” Wenstrup said. “In case you haven’t heard. In over a year of investigation, we still have no evidence of collusion with Russia and the Trump campaign.”

There have been three guilty pleas from advisers connected to Trump in the inquiry of Russian collusion being conducted by former FBI director Robert Mueller.

Wenstrup instead accused Hillary Clinton of colluding with Russia. Wenstrup referenced the accusations made by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-California, that Clinton conspired with the Russians to get dirt on Trump to feed to the FBI.

The Washington Post in a report in early February concluded there was no evidence of this.

“What we have found, however, as Devin Nunes has said, there is collusion, but it is with the Democrats,” Wenstrup said.
